** spoiler alert ** Huh. This was actually one of the best books I've read by this author. Well color me surprised. I was instantly drawn to it soon as I read the blurb but, hey, not the first book I've been excited about and been disappointed afterwards so I wasn't all that hopeful. Glad to be wrong this time around. I actually liked the characters. The world-building wasn't very complete but it was interesting and captivating and the mystery regarding the assassination attempts gripped me 'till the very end. I gotta say Aunt Sarah wasn't that much of a surprise but still good to read about. Overall, I liked it. The writing was better and I can tell the story was worked on and improved. Some effort was definitely made.
