An astounding tale that is so well written you become completely lost in the story. As it is one of my favourite books I gave it as a gift recently. I was surprised but pleased at how much my friend enjoyed it by informing me that she read it in one sitting and has since read it an additional two more times. This book is definitely a keeper and is highly recommended. Well done Ms. Kearsley.

Love giving books as gifts. Always nice when someone else has the same feeling about one of your favorites. Hard not to take it personally if they don't because it feels like an extension of you

I love her books. I ration them as treats when I need something I know will allow me to be happily & totally immersed. My first read of hers was The Winter Sea, have given that to many friends and relatives. My husband loved it, as well. Just finished The Splendour Falls, wanted to inmediately go to Chinon.
