Wow! What a doozy of a book that kept me guessing pretty much through out the whole story! I do enjoy stories like that because they keep me thinking and wondering what will the outcome be! I don't have a lot of time right now to write a review that would do justice to this book..So, I am hoping to come back later and explain more about my feelings as I was reading this one! Believe me, I had quite a few feelings, and to be honest; some of them surprised me. Especially when it came to the heroine!I found myself getting quite frustrated with her need to fight so hard against some of the evil characters. I do believe she probably would have got along a lot better if she had of "submitted" until it was the BEST time to fight. I mean, the phrase "pick your battles" to me; is a smart way to live sometimes!!!

As far as the reveals that came at the end of the story, some were shocking..and others were not so much. I found myself being suspicious of everyone though, and it is always refreshing when the author can pull off a story that isn't so predictable. "The Sect" is dark...and at times just plain gruesome. It was suggested to me to make sure I read it with a buddy. I was lucky to get to read it with my best buddy Steph!!! I definitely would agree, that this book is best when you can have a hand to hold to get you through it! The story itself is just one of those stories that will get a discussion going at the end of each chapter!

Do I recommend this to readers?? Absolutely! If you are the type of person who can handle darkness, and likes a bit of mystery thrown in..then please do give this one a try! One thing this book is NOT, is a romantic love story. So, if that is what you are craving...then I would give this one a pass. There is some "romance" within the story..but I use that word hesitantly because what some of the people shared...really can't be classified as "romantic" at all. More like all consuming passion, pain versus pleasure, and most definitely...sexual. A common phrase that was said was this:

"Love is the pain of pleasure...and pain is the pleasure of love."
