I liked this book. I loved the beginning. Her being taken by a psycho. Thrown in a pit in the woods. the psychological way she went about her captivity, her struggle to survivor. What was less loved by me was her rescue and what ensues after.
Honor Calhoun is a romance author. Out for a morning jog. She is tackled, captured and thrown in hole in the woods. In her struggles with her captor she swipes his cell. When he leaves her in the hole she takes the time to try calling 911 but keeps getting cut off. She takes a chance and text number in his phone log and is connected to Nathan Reed, a bad ass marine, who is struggling to survive since his return home from deployment.
A book loses point with me with insta-love. Thus the 3 rating. She has broken ribs and other injuries but can make love a day or two later. That was a negative to me. From start to ending the arc is liek a week or two. Too fast for the romance portion for me. Also the lack of police protection etc after the abduction is a sour point as well.
I do love Ms Hebert's writing style. I liked her character development. The story is engaging just didnt love the romance aspect and the few wholes I saw.
