***This is a new adult contemporary novel and contains sexual content and graphic language. It is not intended for young adult readers.*** One text can change everything. Honor Calhoun never thought her life would ever be like the books she writes for a living. One morning while out for a run, she learns not all bad things are plots in novels. Some horrors can actually come true. She faces off with a persistent attacker, holds her own, but in the end is taken hostage and thrown into a hole. In the middle of the woods. But Honor didn’t go down there alone. She took her kidnapper’s phone with her. With a spotty signal and a dying battery, her hope is slim. Nathan Reed is an active duty Marine stationed at a small reserve base in Pennsylvania. All he wants is a calm and uneventful duty station where he can forget the memories of his time in a war-torn country. But a single text changes everything. Nathan becomes Honor’s only hope for survival, and he has to go against the clock, push aside his past, and take on a mission for a girl he’s never met. Both of them want freedom but they have to survive long enough to obtain it.

This was another okay NA contemporary romance, but again, there were parts that really irritated me.

What I liked:
*The female lead wasn’t a virgin! Hurrah! There have been far too many naïve virgins in this series.

What I didn’t like:
* What sort of a sloppy kidnapper doesn’t notice that their victim has stolen their phone from them?
* What sort of a sloppy kidnapper doesn’t care when he eventually realises said phone is missing?
* What sort of person rescues someone who’s been kidnapped and nearly been raped, and starts kissing them without their permission?
* ‘I found myself wondering what he looked like in a uniform'
really? You’ve been kidnapped, you nearly got raped, and now you're getting shot at, and you're wondering what your rescuer looks like in a uniform? Really?
* The male lead referring to his testicles as ‘the boys. No. Just no.

So yes, there was more I disliked than I liked. Boo.
A generous 6 out of 10

3 STAR READ!
Genre: Suspenseful Romance

 photo textfinal1_zps8c6eb72d.jpg

Honor Calhoun starts her day the same way she would any other, unaware that this day will be totally unlike any other.

Nathan Reed is enjoying a poker night out with his marine buddies when a text changes EVERYTHING. He suddenly finds himself in a mad search to find a girl who has been kidnapped and thrown in to a hole.

So here is the deal, I went in to this book COMPLETELY BLIND I never even read the synopsis in fact I was about 50% in to it before I even added it on ŷ. And I totally recommend for others who want to read Text do the same. The book starts out very fast paced with a suspenseful tone to it. Frankly, it scared the bejeezus out of me. But, I blame that on me not reading the synopsis.

Honor and Nathan are fierce both are fighters and unrelenting in their fight for survival. Unfortunately so is the kidnapper.

The Characters
Honor was a fighter, she was tenacious and she had a really good sense of humor. Those are all great qualities for a heroine in my humble opinion.
Nathan was a bit intense. It was obvious that he experienced a few things in the past that left him scarred, though the revelations come a bit later in the book.

My Thoughts
Text is told in dual pov's and makes for a very quick read. Yes, it is book 4 in a series however it can be read as a standalone. I found it to be a soft read, meaning it was easy and uncomplicated. That is aside from the very beginning which I found to be harsh and at times terrifying because let’s face it NOTHING about a kidnapping is soft nor easy to read. There are some things in this book that will not work for some readers while others won’t mind. This one boils down to your tolerance and taste buds. It can pretty much go either way.

My Rating and Why
I gave text 3 stars because while it held my rapt attention a few things within the storyline felt a bit unrealistic. For instance That did NOT work for me. Also, I understand that people can easily become close due to extreme circumstances that bring them together but the book still had that insta-love feel to it. Things progress very quickly for Honor and Nathan in a very very short period of time.

My Ratings
Characters- Cute, Witty, Charming and intense
Writing Style- Fair
Plot/Storyline- Girl is kidnapped and falls for her savior
Steam Factor- Medium/Moderately Steamy on a scale of 1-10 I say 5
Entertainment Level- Lo-Med-Hi Surprisingly High, I had to know what happened and the book kept my attention all the way through.
Overall- I liked it! I recommend that readers check it out!

Now go forth and read. Then come tell us about it on ŷ!

4.5 stars!! I really liked this. Not quite as much as Tease. Maybe because RL got in the way and it took me longer to read this so at times I felt a disconnect. Nathan was an amazing hero though.

Honor is an author that gets caught up in her own horror story. She is attacked and fights but is over powered and ends up trapped in a hole waiting for her attacker to come back. What he doesn't know is that she was able to get his cell phone.

Nathan is supposed to be going to a poker game when he sends a text to another player and Honor responds to it. Once he realizes that this isn't a joke he goes in search of the woman who texting him for help.

I really love a good romantic suspense story. This was one that I really enjoyed even with some of the more hard to believe elements. I really liked that there was no real angst and that the characters were both extremely likable. It was a nice read with some good excitement and a little romance.

This book was AWESOME!

It was a book I even took with me to the bathroom because I didn't want to put it down.

Honor is the main heroine, and she is smart, funny, brave, strong, she is a survivor!

As she takes her morning run, someone crashes into her, she fights but is beat and finds herself in a whole in the middle of the woods, alone.

But!!! She managed to grab her kinapper's cell phone! She can't get any calls in, but she receives a text from someone who obviously knows the kidnapper. She begs him for help and helps convince him it isn't a joke.

Enter Nathan. Marine. Hot. All male. Has scars both inside and out from war. He makes finding Honor personal.

She get's out and he assists. It's the kind of Insta love I like! I really liked both of the characters. The attraction between the to were hot! Hot!

This book was filled with suspense, you never knew when the kidnapper was going to come back. but you knew he would.

It was great. Definitely one to read!

Intense and action packed with a swoony heroic hero

I liked this one. The h is sweet and the H is dreamy. I love a good damsel in distress tale. 🤷🏼‍♀️

My only critique was how much joking around they did mid running for their lives and how much lusting over his body she did while literally in the middle of a major trauma. That was kinda silly.

Bottom Line? Solid entertaining read ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

BLURB: Out on a morning run, romance-novel writer Honor, is horrifically attacked; kicked, punched and broken, fighting off her almost-captor she grabs his phone before being accidentally thrown into a hole in the middle of the woods.

Marine Nathan spends his days in a reservist base with his comrades cleaning and inspecting weaponry. He's away from the war and violence but he's still fighting off the nightmares of his past.

Nathan realises one of his fellow Marines is late to attend one of their regular poker games, sending off a text to him, he eventually shows up. But he gets a reply; 'Plz help me. Call 911'.

'There was now something standing between me and absolute death. His name was Nathan.'

I read #2 in this series and I wasn't very fussed. I enjoyed this one though, it was thrilling, loved some of the quotes. Honor was feisty and a fighter and Nathan was a broken Marine, with confident manliness. It was a quick read, nothing epic, might read more of the series if the blurb interests me.

I'm not a real picky reader. I rarely "hate" books or characters. I'm generally pretty easy to please. But I need to give this book 3 stars for a few reasons.

Now with Text, I liked this book. I read it straight through and was involved with the story line and eager to see how it played out. I thought the descriptions of Honor's experience while kidnapped were gripping and well done. I really liked Nathan's character and his struggle to get over his experiences (although it all happened a little too *whoosh* magic revelation all will be better now).

Characters, Nathan, 24 year old Marine. Honor, age unknown, romance novel writer.

Stand alone book with happy ending and epilogue. Chapters switch with alternate POV's.

Ends at 94% on my Kindle.

For a book that had fairly graphic sexual interaction descriptions when the author said things like:

"He was completely supporting my weight and his face was totally immersed...well...you know where.

That was annoying. For pete's sake just say *pussy*. I'm already reading about him going down on her, I CAN handle the truth!

The author had the ever-loving shit beat of her heroine (including broken ribs) but she seemed remarkably agile and capable of bouts of hugging, snuggling, foreplay (against the wall with her legs wrapped around him IIRC) and sex during which she "rode me like I was a wild mustang and she was the only one who could tame me."

Now I have a sick thing for wounded/injured/stalked heroines and the guys that care for them. I'm all about the hero seeking revenge and rescuing his wounded little bird (I acknowledged it was sick, I know, but I can't help myself. See I even have a "woman in peril" shelf). But every time they had some sort of sexual interaction I was just going "NO!" how can she even move??? I'm sure if you had the incentive of a 24yo hot Marine guy making the moves on you that you might be motivated to be a bit more perky but wait until you read the descriptions of what happened to her (including being dropped down a 30foot hole) and tell me how soon after that you would be wanting to "ride someone like a mustang."

There were a few more things that I won't elaborate on: 8week old puppy that turns into a warning/guard dog, the fact that she is a romance writer and teases about reviewers leaving "insta-love" reviews on her book if she wrote it (yeah...that is exactly what it was), the fact that he goes to the freaking police station and decides they won't help quickly enough and to rescue her on his own without saying one word to the admins that are staffing the place without apparently a single officer around, and finally I guess, we never know the motivation of the bad guy. For some reason that was important to me and it bugged me that it was just this vague "well he was responsible for some of the missing people in the area" but we never know why he was whacked or how much damage he actually did.

So in the end, I really did enjoy the story but for some reason the inconsistencies and improbable situations really stood out to me in this book.

Where to start? Okay, first off... congrats to Cambria on another hit! Text had me up all night guzzling coffee and using toothpicks to keep my eyes open. I couldn't put this book down, it was so good that I read it twice, back to back.
One text can change your life. And for Nathan Reed and Honor Calhoun, it did. Nathan is the type of man every woman wants; strong, protective, and an attentive lover.
Honor could be any one of us writers. We are all her in some way. Put them together in a life and death situation and you get one action packed kick ass story! Don't forget Honor's cinnamon creamer or Nathan's apple pie and things will be just fine ;)

“Honor was the light that flooded my darkness. She was the glasses to my partially blind eyes. Her kisses were like balm to my wounded soul. Her determination to survive even when odds were against her was my wakeup call.

This book was recommended to me by a good friend of mine and my first read of Cambria Hebert’s story. I might read more of her works in the coming months.

Text is the story of Honor Calhoun and Nathan Reed. Honor is an author and Nathan is an active duty Marine and was stationed in Pennsylvania. Their meeting was kind of interesting and unusual.
About the characters, I liked Honor, or at least in SOME parts of the story. She is brave, funny and witty. I liked that she was able to think in her situation. She was kidnapped and all and yet she managed to do something to get out of the hell that she was in.

“That even though you look like a warrior and act like a warrior, underneath all that toughness is really a big mushy marshmallow.

Nathan on the other hand was a bit mysterious for me, it seems like he had issues in his past that still haunts him up to now. Oh and yes, I liked him so much. he was intense, protective and yes, HOT, too.

The book was good but I do have some issues about it.

First, It was funny to think that the Kidnapper didn’t even notice that his cellphone was missing and that he just left his victim in a hole?
Second, Who on Earth will trust someone she just met through text message not to mention that the person she’s talking to is in a way acquainted with her kidnapper?
And third, considering the circumstances as to how Nathan and Honor met, I don’t think insta-love, insta-attraction, insta-lust is appropriate. The female protagonist seemed to bounce back quickly for someone who was kidnapped, assaulted or nearly raped.

It was 3 out of 5 stars for me because of the above mentioned reasons. The book was good but it wasn’t just convincing enough to make me feel the story.

My Review:
Amazing book. Amazing story. Amazing, heart-stopping hero! I had a feeling this was going to be a good book from the blurb and it absolutely lived up to my expectations.

Honor's a normal woman who is actually a romance novelist (LOVED that.) She's out running on a wooded Pennsylvania trail when she is abducted. This girl is tough...wow, she did all the right things...fighting back with everything she had, but it just wasn't enough when faced with a bigger, stronger guy and she ended up beaten up and in a hole in the middle of the woods. But she's smart and resourceful and managed to sneak the guys cell phone during their struggle. She has very little signal so when there's an incoming text, she answers it with a plea for help. That texting exchange is with Nathan, a marine who plays poker with her abductor (and obviously has no idea about what kind of guy he truly is.)

But Nathan is all things good and heroic. Through a bizarre set of events, he provides Honor with a lifeline. Truly, this guy is tough and strong and protective and all things amazingly heroic. I loved how reluctant he was to leave her side...ever throughout the book. He simply wanted her safe and feeling secure. He has his own nightmares so he understands a lot of what she's going through with her trauma and that makes him that much more. *sigh* I absolutely and totally fell in love with Nathan.

It's a great romantic story with a lot of drama and suspense. It definitely did this romantic suspense lover's heart good to read it. It's been a while since I've been so caught up in a suspense book. Yay, Cambria Hebert!

I've ordered all of this author's other books since this was the first book I've read from her and I truly loved this author's voice.

So on the surface I enjoyed this book. I like the drama of the heroines communication with the hero. I don't mind the insta-love that is even mentioned in the book, because I truly believe that can happen. But there were a few real life facts that left me distracted. The heroine receives numerous broken ribs but spend the rest of the book moving with relative ease. Rolling off beds and engaging in although incredibly hot, but physically impossible sex in her condition. If you have ever experienced even a bruised rib you know that no one rolls off beds, has sex against walls or plays cowgirl with broken ribs. Also this heroine had just experienced a traumatic encounter with a madman. When your new puppy starts barking at your fence in the dark, it's the proverbial "don't go in the basement when the power is out" horror movie plot line. She seems to not be able to clue in to the obvious. So outside of me snorting every time she does gymnastics with her shattered ribs I did actually like this book. I loved the dialogue between the two characters, I love they never gave any excuses for their feelings. Just accepting the feelings as they came. That was pretty darn refreshing.

As soon as I read the blurb for this one, I knew I wouldn’t be able to put off reading it. Damsel in distress, military hero, crazy sociopath? Yep, totally for me! I also thought it was an interesting premise…what if one person, one stranger, was all that stood between you and death?

One text can change everything.

Here's the setup: Honor is violently attacked during her morning run by a stranger. After putting up a fight, her attacker finally overcomes her, puts her unconscious body in his truck, and takes her to an isolated wooded area, where he drops her in a dark, dank hole with these ominous words

I’ll be back

Her attacker doesn’t realize that Honor was able to grab his cell phone before he dropped her into the hole. Hurt, cold, and scared, Honor tries over and over to call for help. Unfortunately, she is unable to reach anyone including 911 because of the poor signal the phone receives.

How did one prepare herself for rape and grisly murder?

Not far away, Nathan’s waiting for his weekly poker game to start. He sends a text message to another play that was supposed to bring the beer but hasn’t shown up yet. His text goes to the phone Honor has and she receives it and responds.

Please help me.

I loved both characters in Text. Nathan was exactly the hero Honor needed. With his experience as a Marine and the ingrained need he had to rescue those that needed it, he was perfection.

I hugged her close, trying not to crush her ribs but unable to gentle my hold. I couldn’t let her go. She was mine. I was keeping her.

And he made me laugh.

As much as Nathan was the perfect hero for Honor, Honor was exactly who Nathan needed too.

Honor was the light that flooded my darkness. She was the glasses to my partially blind eyes. Her kisses were like balm to my wounded soul. Her determination to survive even when odds were against her was my wakeup call.

The romance was sweet and I loved that Nathan and Honor were connected before they even met. There was an intrinsic trust between them that seemed really authentic. If you're looking for a really steamy novel, this isn't it. I think the romance/steam was written perfectly for the story and the characters.

He trailed barely there kisses across the extremely tender flesh. Who the hell needed a Band-Aid when he was around?

“I’m sorry, he whispered, looking up. “I’m not the one who did this and I can’t take away the pain, but if I could…

He didn’t finish the sentence, but the unspoken dangled there between us and made me forget every ache that coursed through my body.

In that moment, I fell just a little bit in love with him.

Yes!!

Text is the fourth book in the Take It Off Series and the only one I’ve read. It is a standalone novel. I didn’t realize until after I went back to check what else the author has written that I had the first and second book in the Take It Off series already on my TBR list. I definitely plan to read both soon.

I have to give Text 4.5 STARS just because I liked the story and the characters so much. It was fast paced and was equal parts suspense and romance. Once I started reading it, I didn’t put down until I was finished. Because of the shorter length of the book, there wasn’t a lot of development but it worked perfectly as it was. I really enjoyed the straightforward writing and the pace of the story. I look forward to reading more of this series.

This one was a little different than the other books in the series. I was impressed with how much care and detail went into this story. The perspective was so much deeper. Maybe it was because Nathan's struggle with PTSD made him more than just a boy on the prowl for a girl.

And I liked the conversations and the bonding between Honor and Nathan. Friendship is a good basis for a relationship, and I thought Cambria did a good job developing the characters and setting the groundwork for a lasting relationship.

Everytime I read a Cambria Hebert book they just get better and better.

This was a truly great read and I loved getting to read their story. The bond these two people was developed because of a terrifying situation, but they are honestly exactly what each other needs on this day and every other. At one point the heroine is trying trying to make sense of why this happened to her and she comes to the conclusion that she was meant to meet the hero. This is how he was brought into her life. This was said with so much introspection, that I loved it.

Text by Cambria Herbert blew me away! What an amazing read.

Text is the first book I have read by Cambria Hebert. I saw recommendations for this book on Facebook, Amazon and Barnes & Noble. The synopsis sounded intriguing and I had to do that “one click buy. I am a huge fan of romantic suspense and military romance. This book had all these elements plus a sizzling romance. Although the genre says New Adult Romantic Suspense this book seemed much more mature than the general New Adult books. The characters were in their mid twenties and had a very mature outlook on life. Both were very centered and knew who they were, what their flaws were, and how they handled those flaws.

Honor Calhoun is a romance author. She spends many hours holed up in her house writing and on the internet promoting her books. Her outlet is to run everyday on a nature trail in back of her house. It is a daily ritual that frees her mind, relieves her stress, and gives her inner peace. Her peace is shattered when she is attacked, abducted, and thrown into a deep ground hole in the woods. She fought the attack with all her strength. She kept her wits during the attack and managed to get her attackers cell phone out of his pocket without him knowing. This is her only chance of staying alive. With a spotty signal and a dying battery, the hope is very slim. Being under ground in a hole, in the woods, the signal has very few bars, if any at all. One single text manages to come through and it is her only hope. That text changes everything.

Nathan Reed is a marine, now stationed state side in Pennsylvania. He craves the monotonous duty as a weapons Inspector/Instructor. He is happy being stationed on a smaller base, small town living, and his regular Friday night poker game with the guys. This Friday is no exception and he is looking forward to his down time with the guys. One late member who was supposed to bring the beer and one text changes everything. A text that could mean a woman’s death. He will do everything in his power to save her life. No matter what the cost. After all he is a Marine.

Text is an edgy book that keeps the reader on the edge of their seat throughout the book. The danger is frightening. The author portrays this danger in a very convincing way and has the readers shaking with fear for Honor’s life. The suspense is through the roof.

The interaction between the characters is intense. Both characters are strong, honorable, and perfect for each other. How they combine their forces to stay alive is amazing.

I absolutely loved this book. The book is well written, the plot is intense, the characters are amazing, and the romance is perfect.

Like I said, I loved this book. It is the first book I have read by Cambria Hebert and I was impressed. I have purchased the other three books in the Take It Off series and look forward to reviewing them soon!

I highly recommend this book!

OOOOooooooohhhh, hot, sexy, suspenseful, what else do you need?

Song choice: "The Ghost Of You" by My Chemical Romance, "Misguided Ghost" by Paramore, "You are the Best thing" by Ray LaMontagne

First thoughts: I thought this was fantastic! I have only gotten the chance to read the first in the series, which i am dying to read Tease, its just a matter of time.... bwhahaha anyways, this isn't about Tease or Torch, this is about Text. Holy goodness what a fantastic book! This was sit on the edge of your seat going, OH MY GOD WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN, OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD! To sitting back going, aawwwww, ohhhhh my heart can't take it! To ohhh jeeez *fanning yourself*

Thoughts on Plot: While I don't read a whole lot of contemporary fiction, the type I do like is a bit suspenseful and action packed but also romantic. I am very demanding ;) anyways. This had it all. While the action started right away i loved it! I loved it, I loved it! This was very fast paced, to the point you pull away and go, "oh damn i am 50 percent through the book O.O" The chemistry between the two characters is overwhelming! Anyways in all honesty the moments were sort of predictable for the most part, I was thrown off course once or twice. Either way i found it very enjoyable. The voice of the characters was amazing as well.

So on to the characters

Honor: She was quite a treat. She was a fighter, through and through. She was a very interesting character as well as being a fighter. Not once does she give up nor does she ever act like the damsel in distress. She isn't letting fear stop her from living or fighting for her life. She was an intense character and i really enjoyed being in her mind. She was over all an awesome MC i don't think that anyone could really find faults in her.

Nathan: Well he has some problems but its okay. He will be okay, and he will break your heart and he will heal it back up again. Don't you worry about this boy he found his healer. He found the one person that really can pull him back from the edge. While this book was supposed to be Nathan saving Honor - Honor saves Nathan.

This isn't a book about boy saves girl, boy and girl fall in love, this is about boy helps girl, girl saves boy, they fall for each other, how could they not? Even Honor mentions that readers would call it intsa-love, i don't see it that way, not at all, sure they fall fast and hard but in there situation i don't think it is that unbelievable in fact I truly believe in the love they have. <3

This was an amazing book and I can see why it made the top 100 best seller list on amazon <3 Congrats to Cambria Hebert she totally deserves it

Well, I did it. I judged a book by its cover and I was soooo off base as to what I thought this story was going to be about! I mean, there’s hot abs on the cover, which led me to believe it would be a fluffy story about love at first sight. It was, but it wasn’t. But I was glued to it, folks. I couldn’t walk away until I had it finished.
This is the story of Honor. She’s a romance writer, and while out for a run one morning she is attacked, abducted and thrown into a hole in the middle of the woods. She manages to snatch her abductor’s cell phone and tries calling for help. That fails, but then she receives a text on the phone and asks for help in reply. It just so happens that the man texting is Nathan. A marine who unknowingly is playing poker with the man who, it turns out, is a sicko who abducts and rapes women. He finds Honor and saves her from the woods, but that plunges them into a dangerous cat and mouse game with the abductor, who is hell-bent on revenge.
This book really blew me away. It was exciting, sexy and just a good read. This is the part of my review where I would normally criticize the insta-love aspect of the story, because the characters have an instant attraction to one another and even though they have just been through a terrifying experience, still manage to flirt with one another. But I can’t fault the author for that, because in this story it actually works. The way the writer has written this, from the perspective of a romance novelist, she addresses the absurdity of it in Honor’s inner monologue, so I have to give her a pass. It’s genius, seriously.
I really liked the characters in this story as well. Honor has some serious fight in her. She’s small, but she’s a firecracker. She never, even in dire circumstances, gives up hope. She keeps fighting. And Nathan, a war vet with inner wounds of his own, manages to be both alpha and sensitive; endearing yet tough. I’ve said before that I think that’s a tough line to toe when writing an alpha character, but Cambria really hits the nail on the head with Nathan. He’s a great guy, and he and Honor are perfect for one another. And even though there’s insta-love, she still manages to create romantic and sexual tension between the characters. That’s an absolute feat, as that’s my main complaint with insta-love is that there’s no build up! This has build-up! It’s awesome!
I found this book utterly captivating. It’s unlike any book I have read in recent memory, and I was totally surprised by it. If you haven’t picked this up yet, do it! You will love every minute of it! 4.5 stars!

Ahhh! This book! This mother fucking book! Seriously, Cambria. Your books are so addictive and hooking and just so freaking down right amazing that I can't seem to get over them xD

Now this would be the second book I've read from Cambria. Granted, I plan on reading the rest of the take it off series since they're so freaking good!

Now lets get right into the story characters first. I want to start out with Nathan. Nathan, first of all there hasn't yet been a Nathan character I haven't yet fell for. Nathan scott from one tree hill, Nathan Thorne from Breach series. Enough said. This Nathan is no exception. He fits completely in with them! Nathan being a marine just increases the level of perfectness!
Nathan did no wrong. He's a hero no matter which way you look at it. He was a american solider who fought for our country and he didn't hesitate to save Honor. See, perfect!

Honor, I liked her. Her name is different but perfectly fit for this story, I approve! She's one tough little bat though. She fought tooth and nail against the ol' mighty Lex. She's such a strong character even though she got injured numerous times she never gave up. Never! Which is exactly the reason I like her!

What Lex has done is freaking gross and possibly every woman's fear. Not only being kidnapped but thrown in a hole and left there. I don't think I could handle this book if she was buried alive. I can barely watch it happen in TV shows. Its freaking sick that they are scumbags like Lex out there that do this to woman all the time. Yuck!

Overall, i'm happy with the way everything ended. Lex dead by Honor. Honor married to Nathan in the end. oh it was perfect<3 again another book I just couldn't put down. It was freaking amazing! I can't wait to read the other books in the series!

Text was just as good the second time reading it as it was the first. Great characters and a good story.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: 11-15-13:
This series has been sooo good. Every one of these books have been great. In Text, we get a great female lead character by the name Honor. She's a writer and out for her morning run when she is kidnapped. While struggling with the kidnapper, she notices his cell phone and secretly takes it before he throws her into a deep hole in the woods. The kidnapper (I won't spoil his identity yet) is late for a poker game so one of the guys there texts him because he's supposed to be bringing the beer. Hot Marine Nathan is the one who texts and he gets the response that she's been kidnapped by the owner of the phone. Once he decides she's being for real, Nathan goes to find her. Can Nathan find Honor in time?? Will they catch the kidnapper??

I absolutely adored Nathan!!! Ms. Hebert has her own Marine, and I'm thinking I'd like to get one too :-). He's so strong and protective, yet soft and sweet and immediately wants to protect Honor and claim her as HIS. I always like these alpha male characters who make you feel safe and protected. Honor is great too and the instant chemistry between she and Nathan is hot!

Read this book and all the others in this series. They all have great endings, great characters and are stand alone novels. The next book Tipsy will be out in December and looks to be another good one. Can't wait. Oh, and don't forget to read the Acknowledgement at the end to see how this book came about. It's pretty cool.

What can I say? I read the 4th book in the series 3rd. I know they are stand alone but I did read it after I read Tempt! Now I thought I loved Tempt and Cambria couldn't top that suspenseful book with another equally thrilling ride but I was wrong.

The thing I loved most about Text is Nathan. He is far from Perfect. He isn't beautifully scarred or just the right one to make a girl swoon. BUT he is the right one to save Honor. From the bad guy? From the bad day? From herself?? Or from himself??? Who knows. Well a lot of people do of course because they read the book and found it as equally exciting as I did. You grasp what I am saying though right?? Anyway!

I am not going to tell you much more then the synopsis. It pretty much sets the stage for what happens and it happens pretty quickly so don't think that it will just be this slow buildup. You get punched in the gut right away and you won't want to stop reading.

Cambria has a way with her words that brings me right back to point 1 with her. Like I have never read a single book from and I opened the page, read her writing and fell in love with her creativity for the first time. Shrugs... maybe that is why I am such a faithful fan.

That feeling didn't change in this novel. My love for her grew. My appreciation hightened and my respect rose. She can write in any genre she wants and still brings authenticity to the table. Young adult, paranormal romance or contemporary fiction/NA. I tip my Nerd Girl hat to her once again. I am sure I will in the future BUT TEXT IS MY FAVORITE! (So far)

5+ Stars. Drama, Sexy, Sweet, Intense and HOLY HOTNESS!!!

I looked all day yesterday for a book to read and couldn't find one that I was in the "mood" for. Well today I logged into facebook and my first post was from one book blogger that I follow and they were recommending TEXT! I read the description it and instantly wanted to read it. I dont even think I finished reading the description...and let me tell you...I was definitely NOT disappointed.
From the very first chapter to the very last word this book had my attention. It took everything in me to not lay my kids down for an extra nap in order to finish.
Nathan is H.O.T.T and Honor is amazingly strong and kind of funny. I loved their relationship. Even thru the texting (which only lasted for a couple of chapters) I could feel the chemistry between them. Nathan is so protective and honorable and honest and sweet and sexy. I loved him instantly.
This was the first book I've ever read by this author (I don't even know if she has anything else out) but I can tell you that I will be on the lookout for more from her. I just wish this story was longer. I don't feel like I had enough Nathan and Honor. It felt like a complete book but it almost feels like it should be the first book of a two book series. I'm so happy I read this and I would recommend it to anyone who wants an "insta-love" type story with a lot of drama and a sexy sweet hero!

My kindle is so jam packed with books, I usually try to go to the back and read the ones I've had on there the longest, but the description for Text intrigued me so much, I had to read it straight away.

I wasn't disappointed. This was a great story. I loved Honor's courage and Nathan's integrity. These two characters were easy to fall in love with. Yes, their story was insta-love, but it worked in this book. I loved the tension and action in the beginning of the story then to have it followed up by romantic scenes that were sweet and heartfelt was a treat. I like the way the author kept you guessing until the end and never fully took away the threat. It added the perfect amount of tension to the story.

I found the sex scenes a little full on for my liking, but they weren't complete lust-fests. The dialogue at the end of the scenes was beautiful and touching. These characters were into each other, their emotions were strong and raw and I loved that about their story.

This was my first Cambria Hebert book. I've been meaning to read her work for a while and I'm so glad I started with Text. Knowing she's a writer and married to a Marine made the story so special. I think it's cool that she shared a piece of herself with her readers.

If you're looking for a story with tension, romance and fantastic characters, then you should definitely check out Text.

4.5 stars from me :)

I liked this book. I loved the beginning. Her being taken by a psycho. Thrown in a pit in the woods. the psychological way she went about her captivity, her struggle to survivor. What was less loved by me was her rescue and what ensues after.

Honor Calhoun is a romance author. Out for a morning jog. She is tackled, captured and thrown in hole in the woods. In her struggles with her captor she swipes his cell. When he leaves her in the hole she takes the time to try calling 911 but keeps getting cut off. She takes a chance and text number in his phone log and is connected to Nathan Reed, a bad ass marine, who is struggling to survive since his return home from deployment.

A book loses point with me with insta-love. Thus the 3 rating. She has broken ribs and other injuries but can make love a day or two later. That was a negative to me. From start to ending the arc is liek a week or two. Too fast for the romance portion for me. Also the lack of police protection etc after the abduction is a sour point as well.

I do love Ms Hebert's writing style. I liked her character development. The story is engaging just didnt love the romance aspect and the few wholes I saw.

Once I read the first few pages, I was hooked. I admired the heroine, she was strong and such a fighter. She kept her head and never gave up. There were some great twists and I was kept in suspense, not only on how she would escape, but how the author planned to weave a believable romance into the story. Looking back, maybe it was a bit far-fetched, but the book was so exciting and enjoyable I really didn't mind. It's part of a 5 book series called "Take It Off" and Text is #4, but it reads as a standalone, something so rare these days.

Man I want Honor's life. She's a best selling author, has her own house... But I don't want what happened to her. She's kidnapped and held against her will and tortured and then pushed down a hole in the middle of the forest. That's until she realises she has her abductor's phone. The text she sends saves her life...and changes it forever. The way Honor meets Nathan Reed is one of the most romantic tales I have ever read about. I was so entralled by their story I could not put the book down. I love love love this book!
