I agree with you. I stopped reading for 2 days because I just hated the idea of teeth extraction.

I finished the book, because I seldom leave books unfinished but I did not enjoy it at all.

I hate leaving books unfinished as well, but the teeth plying was a bit too much for me. Good on you for finishing it though. I'm guessing they fall in love at the end? Uurrrggghhh!

Aleatha Romig's 'Consequences' series are much, much better! Aleatha does write amazing mind-fucks, but at the end everything is explained, and understood. I highly recommend the series if you haven't read them already! :)

Yeah read the entire Consequences series. I found it super disturbing (and I mean it in a good way) Anthony Rawlings sets the bar for antihero/asshole/hate-love heroes! I especially loved the Behind His Eyes books. Have you read Flawed by Francette Phal? I loved that book, really good fast paced story with two phenomenal characters.

I really liked the Behind His Eyes books too. Did you notice that Aleatha is one of the few authors who can re-write the same book from the other character's POV and make it seem like a brand new story? And still make it exciting? The respect I have for that author...

True that! I'm currently reading Insidious by Ms Romig. If you like dark reads then I'm sure you'd like Flawed, although it's much much more graphic than Consequences. You can also try Bedtime Stories by L C Moon, another amazing dark read. Would love to hear your thoughts afterwards. Happy reading! :)

Thank you for the recommendations! I shall definitely give them a go, but I have about 11 books lined up first before I buy any more books. But I shall let you know what I think about Flawed once I read it.

What do you think of Insidious? It is on my to-read list but I haven't bought it yet.

Q on the Consequences recommendation -- I've heard awesome things about the whole series and read an excerpt of the first book (very well written!) BUT I've held off reading it because I'm sooo shallow that I want my sex to be a bit more "more" -- I've heard that the sex is described more as 'fade to black' kinda thing - what did you think??

Hi Willow! You've heard right about the 'fade to black' sex scenes in Consequences. Actually the sex is almost nil, the whole story focuses on the psychological aspect of kidnapping and I won't lie, parts of it do drag on. However, that author can write! The male character that she has created will probably haunt you for life! I'm like you, my stories NEED to have sexy times! But this story was so disturbing, it gets inside your head. I'd recommend you read the first few chapters, you'll be sucked in, I'm sure.

And good luck with this book! It's pure shite lol but it's good to read awful books sometimes, so good authors like yourself know what to avoid in their books.

Yes, I've finished it. Despite not being able to connect to those characters and some skimming, I've found the plot quite interesting so I finished it out of curiosity.
