Blacksad (Blacksad, #1-3)

Were it not for the task, "Read a comic book starring anthropomorphic animals," I would not have picked up this book and I would've missed out on the brilliance that is Blacksad.
This is one cinematic graphic novel - the pacing, the shots, the tightly woven noir crime tales.

()
And the way Guarnido uses animals to embody the characterization is brilliant. Even with the background characters, he nails it. I get a sense of who that koala-man is without him needing to say a word. And same for that donkey-man.

()
My GR friend Lono's review pretty much says what I wanted to say and includes more art from the book, so I shall link it HERE

@Lono, I didn't realize there is a 2nd and 3rd! I look forward to seeing what you think about them and whether I should start harassing my library to try to get copies :)
EDIT: They do have the other Blacksad books at my libes! and they are now on hold for me :)
