Out of all of the shifter books I have read this has got be the be the best one I have ever read. I was starting to think that shifters may not be for me, but wow can Kelly Armstrong write. I was a little worried about this series because I wasn’t too fond of her young adult series. But I can definitely say I will be continuing with the Women of the Otherworld series. I am highly addicted to some Elena and Clay.

"You forget, darling.
I am the local psychopath. She stared at him. “Oh my God, it’s scary you noticed that."

We have Elena the only female werewolf in existence. A long time ago she fell in love and was engaged to be married to Clay the love of her life, but while meeting with Jeremy the Alpha of the pack Clay is in. Clay turned into a wolf and bit Elena. And thus turning her into one. And Elena was never the same again. Elena gets called back to the back to help solve a problem that could result in a danger to all werewolves including her.

I absolutely loved this book to death. I loved Elena and Clay. They are like the perfect couple ever! While Elena is back for a while trying to solve this problem for the pack, Clay is making good use of this time trying to win her back. I know we get glimpses into the future of what happened to these two concerning the bite and all of what she went through when she got bitten, but I was a little disappointed to learn that we didn’t get anything about how Elena and Clay first met and what let up to the engagement and bite. But then I learned that there is a book about that. So, yea. can’t wait for that.

"What's this?" Nick said. "Bedtime?"
No one answered him. I kept my eyes closed.
You look positively content, Clayton," Nick continued, thumping down on the floor. "That wouldn't have anything to do with the fact that Elena is cuddled up with you, is it?" "It's cold in here," I murmured.
Doesn't feel cold."
It's cold," Clay growled.
I could start a fire."
I could start one too," Clay said. "With your clothes. Before you get them off."

I loved everyone in the pack. The pack, Alpha is very kind and cold to me at the same time. I know being an alpha you have to maintain control and be cold sometimes because it is a big job, but wow. I think Jeremy is wonderful alpha and I really hope we get to learn more about him as time goes on. He has a kindness towards Elena where you can see him as a father figure for her. We also have Nick, Antonio, Logan, the whole gang. I loved the pack. They’re like such a great family together.

In the book Elena is still having trouble coming to terms with her being a werewolf and I loved her dealing with that, figuring out who she is and by the end of the book finally excepting everything. She has come a long way. My favorite part of the book is Elena and Clay and I just have to say I WANT MORE! I can’t wait to read book two in the series, Stolen and find out what happens next in the Women of the Otherworld Series. If you are a big time shifter fan you will devour this book. I highly recommend this book to any urban fantasy fan.

Mariya it will be up soon, I promise. hopefully tonite sometime or tomorrow. but it was really really really good. I usually have trouble getting into some shifter books, but this one was amazing. And I love Clay and Elena. I think you'll like it XD

Mariya dude. there's like three different covers for this series..haha. I like the covers, the one's you added to your shelf, they my fav. XD

Ceitidh the covers I added are the ones I have seen at Chapters and Indigo! XDDD BTW!! could you do me a favor dear? could you take a pic of your Jace's letter to Clary just to know how the American version is? does it has a seal and shit? cuz my edition has no seal at all O_O!! sniff. is glued to the very first page and folded in 3 and that's it. I kinda think that Canadian version is different... sniff... if that's the case. Im giving back this one and getting an American version from B&N online. I really want to know what the hell happened here! if they are different, I have no idea WTF! I was sure all books here were sent from the states, therefore I thought they were all exactly the same. sniff!!

AH I enjoyed the Women of the Otherworld series a lot. I did tend to favor the stories about Clay and Elena more than the other characters. For me, the best books were Bitten, Stolen, Broken, and Frostbitten. Men of the Otherworld was a really good way to get inside Clay's head (a kind of scary place).

Mariya MENS OF THE OTHERWORLD?!!!! WHERE?! Which books! direct me, AH!!!! XD XD XD

AH Men of the Otherworld. It is the story of how Clay became a werewolf and how he came to be with Jeremy.

Loved that book.

It really sucks not getting any updates or emails. I just saw this on the feed.

Mariya I will totally read it when I'm done. I hope to read all of the books instead of just Clay and Elena but I am some what addicted to them.

Btw, is there a book about how Elena and Clay met? That was the one thing I really wanted in Bitten XD

message 10: by AH (new) - rated it 5 stars

AH Yes, there is a story of how Clay and Elena met. It is in Tales of the Otherworld - Beginnings. There is also a graphic novel on her website called Becoming where Elena turns into the werewolf.

Mariya oh, god. *fans herself* I totally need to plow through this series. Elena and Clay are such GOOD STUFF! You got me too excited right now! XD XD XD

Ceitidh holly molly!! Im getting BItten today!!!!!!!!!!! and I have seen that gorgeous Men of the Other World book! When I saw all of them long time ago I had no idea which one was the first one or if it was fine to read them in any order XD. It was during christmas and they were 9,99$ each!! Im definetly gonna check that serier! dude! Im almost at the end of The Gathering and I really like kelley's writting!! it was kinda slow at the begginig but now a lot is happening! gonna finish it today and start Bitten! yey!! cheers girls!! <3

Mariya Bitten was also a bit slow at the beginning, but then OMFG!!!! AWESOME! I really hope you enjoy Bitten XD

AH Her adult books are way better than her Young Adult books, I must say. I found the YA books spent a lot of time running away from the same people over and over again.

Mariya LOL I was surprised I liked Bitten so much..hahaha Elena Clay forever XD
So I totally have to write my full review while the book is still fresh in my mind...XD

Jenese I loved this book also! Then I read the 2nd book, and was not so impressed. I was totally opposite for me, I was more bored than anything. But...eventually I will try the rest of the series.

AH Stolen was the first book I read and I enjoyed it. It was the start of all of the Clay and Elena goodness for me.

Amazon80 I discovered Armstrong early on in my foray into UF and she is still by far one of my favs. She’s second in my top 3 that starts with Patricia Briggs and ends with Ilona Andrews (I CAN”T WAIT FOR KATE). I agree with AH though. I love Elena & Clay but the books focusing on the other characters are not my favorites. I read them all but some I could do without. Not a fan of the YA either. Men & Tales of the Other World we both fantastic. You get more insight into the characters you love.

Dharma Kurlind Stolen is even better. Like AH, it was the first of the books in the series I listened to in audioformat. You will love it. And Dime Store Magic (book 3) is like the best!
