This fun, sexy romance is the story of Logan and Grace. When Logan meets pretty freshman Grace, he's not averse to a bit of hooking up as that's his usual style. But when Grace fancies that things might turn a bit more serious, he thinks that he's been using her as a distraction for an unwanted complication in his life, not someone he's interested in pursuing further. Grace dumps him, rightly so and they go off their separate ways for the summer. But Logan realizes he made a mistake, that he was on the brink of something that could have been meaningful and long lasting. Back at school again, will be be able to convince her to change her mind and give him a second chance?
This was a delightful and sexy college romance. But more than that, it's the story of two people who meet, make mistakes, have a summer apart and when they come together again, have grown enough to know what they want. I really enjoyed Grace's character in the story and how she matures from a fairly shy, pushover type of girl as a freshman to a smarter, more confident and secure woman by her second year of college. Logan has played a part in this transformation for the better as she realizes that if she wants to be an equal partner in a relationship, she's going to have to learn to stand up for herself. This benefits her in all areas - with her friends, with her schooling and with Logan, who has realized his folly and is determined to show Grace that he's not the man he was before. He has matured too, into a man who knows the burden of responsibility and his place in the world, even if it's not what he really wants for his future. He's had a rough past and he can only see difficulties before him - except for Grace who lit his world with her smile and her friendship and is someone he desperately wants back in his life. The sexual attraction between Grace and Logan hasn't dimmed at all during their separation and the love scenes between them are steamy and well written. While there are serious and emotional plotlines afoot, there are so many laugh out loud moments that you just want to keep reading the story, to see if Logan can win Grace back. Logan and his roommates are hilarious together, witty banter abounds and the camaraderie between them shows their true friendship. Yet Logan also learns that sharing his burdens is the way to ease them, if he'll just let his friends and Grace in.
This was a great follow-up to the first story in the Off-Campus series and I can't wait to read what comes next! 4.5 stars.
