“What happens when you lose your heart's desire?

I love the Twilight Saga. I love every single book and it's kind of hard for me to pick a favourite. This one, however, is probably my least favourite. Not for obvious reasons, though. Most people complain about how nothing really happens, how Bella is mainly depressed and moping and boring. To be honest, this is my favourite part in this book. It's the perfect rainy autumn day read. When you're feeling down and annoyed, this book wraps you in a blanket and comforts you. Bella's numbness and depression, Fork's atmosphere, Jacob's warmth, all of that soothes your - or well at least my - soul and lets you sulk a little and enjoy the silence.
I could do without the action, though. I don't need the big drama at the end of every Twilight book. I'm happy just reading about Bella's thoughts and inner conflicts, about her life in Forks, her friends and the Cullens. That's enough for me.

Nah that's exactly what I love about it

Regina I always tend to read this when I'm going through breakups, like today.

I hope you'll feel better soon!

Kaja (red panda) *:・゚✧ My least favorite is probably Eclipse, cause except for one specific event, I remember nothing from the book, closely followed by Breaking Dawn.

I quite liked Eclipse but it's been a while since I read it. The books aren't perfect (as I said, I don't need the action, I'm simply fascinated by Bella's life and the vampires) but they'll always remain comfort reads to me.

For me the first book is like that. :D I mean, as I was reading them, I was obsessed with them all, but now, nearly 10 years later, the first book is still a comfort read for me and I feel like Twilight would do perfectly well if it stayed a standalone.

True but I would have been super curious about Bella's future anyway :D

Dimitris You captured the essense of the Twilight Saga here, with this sentense: "I'm happy just reading about Bella's thoughts and inner conflicts", thank you. The greatest review!
That's exactly how I feel too, all I want to do while reading this or thinking of it is to move to rainy Forks with her and go play baseball in the forests or jump off La Push and go "mudding" with the pack, I don't give a damn if Victoria is evil for avenging James or why Bella didn't chose Jacob over Edward who "left her to protect her" or if the Volturi will punish the Cullens for whatever! Just let me stay in that little cabin in the Quileute reservation, watching Jacob fix his bike for a month while it's raining outside and we order pizza and play indie CDs.
Wow, I MUST re-read this "openly" here and (dare to) finally rate it, even if I get unfriended by half of ŷ! ;)

Kai Spellmeier That's perfect! It's exactly how I feel about these books 😊

Jennifer Hey Kai, I'm just surprised you didn't talk about how badly Jacob and Edward treat Bella. I liked the first book but the next ones were disappointing to me (and this one is probably the worst of the series).

Alma I loved Twilight and New Moon but hated Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. Breaking Dawn is wrong on so many levels.
