I loved The Outsiders when I read it as a teen and again when I read it just a few months ago. S. E. Hinton created a believable and engaging cast of characters who struggle with conflict in and out of their gang and learn the meaning of friendship and family. A very moving and enjoyable story!

I was afraid to read this again, thinking it would be disappointing now that I'm an adult. It may be worth revisiting other favorites.
I love going back to books I read in my youth. I'm just reading the Wrinkle in Time series now. I read the first book, as did everyone in that era, but I had never read the next three. They are really insightful!
I missed the Wrinkle in Time series, but plan on getting to it at some point. I'd really love to reread The Witch of Blackbird Pond.
I love this book. It's my all time favorite book. I could read this over and over again and never get tired of it.
I have that to read, I'll read it soon! :D
Thanks for the positive review Nancy! I have never read this novel due to the fact that my mother thought all YA lit was evil when I was a kid, but there is never a too late for reading, is there?
No, it is never too late, K.l. I'm in my 40's now and still loved the book.
I didn't think the cast was at all believable. I mean what kind of 14 year old greaser goes around saying his brother looks like a Greek god? It's really pushed my suspension of disbelief.
