it was amazing
bookshelves: sf-fantasy

Spin was my third exposure to Robert Charles Wilson, a writer who has yet to disappoint me. He is not a "hard" sci-fi writer. Instead, the author writes about regular people and their ways of coping with major changes in their lives and environments. Spin is a very compelling story with believable, yet not overwhelming, scientific details and realistic characters. This is the type of SF novel that I would not hesitate to recommend to readers of high-quality, literary fiction who may want to explore the genre.

Michael The sequel, _Axis_ ... not so much. I'm glad you liked this one though.

Bill I liked this a lot, too. It's the only thing I've read by him...I'll have to read more of him one of these days.

Nancy Darwinia was very good too. It reminded me a lot of Edgar Rice Burroughs' Caspak series which I read when I was around 10. The Chronoliths was good, though not my favorite of his. I also have a short story collection around somewhere.

James I realize that your review was half a decade back but hopefully you're still around to answer a quick Q.

You mention that you've read two other books by RCW. I'm just curious which ones as I'd like to check out some of his other books but the ratings are less than stellar so I wouldn't know WHERE to start.
Thanks. Peace!
James

Nancy I really enjoyed Darwinia. It reminded me of the Edgar Rice Burroughs books I enjoyed as a child. The Chronoliths was good too, but I would have preferred less family drama. If you'd like to sample his writing, check out his short story, Divided by Infinity.

It can be found here:

Enjoy!
