And I found them all in Bully.

How bullies are made?Is there a reason for their behavior and the pleasure they find in physically and emotionally abusing innocent people?Do they feel a surge of power when they belittle others?I can't say I was a popular girl in school (you see,I was the geek,the perfect student and that didn't exactly make me Miss Congeniality) but the discomfort I sometimes felt was nothing compared to the things Tate went through in Bully.And what I learned while reading this book,was that when bullies see weakness,it makes them even more hungry.When they see tears once,they crave more.Ignoring them or fighting them are the only options to survive.

What happens though when in the urge to fight you become like them?Bully follows Tate and Jared's story.They were childhood friends,until after spending one summer away Jared became Tate's worst enemy.At first she let him get to her,she suffered and did nothing about it until she decided enough was enough.And that's when things got complicated.

“You were my tempest, my thunder cloud, my tree in the downpour. I loved all those things, and I loved you.��

Actually I am,after reading the first pages and witnessed the way Jared treated Tate,I couldn't imagine why she would ever want to be with him and what reason was enough to justify his actions.And it took me a while to forgive and trust Jared,but I ended up irrevocably in love with him.And with the story.


The reasons I loved Bully
-The music.Avenged Sevenfold,Papa Roach,Apocalyptica,Bullet for My Valentine?I just went to metal heaven!
-The feelings.No kidding,it was an emotional rollercoaster.The fury and the sadness over the injustice of the situation were overwhelming,but I could also feel giddy and fuzzy and the butterflies were dancing paso doble in my stomach!
-The line seperating abuser from victim was fine and blurry.There was plenty food for thought and Penelope Douglas painted vividly,without holding back,how cruel teenagers can be and how easy it is to cross the line and the war that rages inside you when you do.
-Just the perfect amount of drama.
-The sexual tension.

Enough said.
-The romance.Besides the hot and heavy make out sessions (and more) there was also love,the love between two kids that found in the other a safe haven,a lantern to guide them back to light.And even though Jared broke Tate's trust and heart,he could put them back together.

If you have any doubts about reading this book,just ignore them.You are going to love it.
