So after watching the show and loving it and kinda missing it since it finished, I decided to pick up the book. Sadly the only thing the series and the book have in common is the name and profession of the female protagonist. Nothing else. Not even the plot. And the plot of this one could have been adapted for the screen in my opinion.. For me the tv series was better. But if I had read this when it came out (in the 90s) I would have enjoyed it more.

Ahhh damn. I loved Bones. I'm not sure if I ever read this book (probably not) - It's rare that the tv adaption is better than the book.

I love Bones! The funny side of it and the chemistry between Brennan and Booth made for an easy, enjoyable watch. This was vastly different. Much more serious and forensic. There's no Booth and gang, Brennan is a forty something divorcee, former alcoholic mother of a young adult daughter. She's clever but nowhere near tv Brennans levels. I don't even know how they can say the tv was based on the books tbh.. The tv series was waaaay more fun and entertaining.
