This book was overall enjoyable, and the first half I absolutely adored! Amazing writing, realistic characters. I love how Olly was smart, but not wise beyond his years *cough* John Green *cough*. However, the last half of this book just went by too fast, developed instalove, was unrealistic, and predictable. Amazing idea, but the way the book was written (unrealistically) i was able to guess the outcome, which was frustrating because it could have taken such a better twist. But it was cute and interesting and I loved the doodles and extra pictures! Also POC main character!!!!!

Spot on! I felt the same way.... the second half just didn't do it for me. However, the first half <3

The John green thing is so true. He makes all his character sound so sophisticated and smart like wtf? They are teenagers not philosophers
I agree with you Whitney. How would you have ended it? I loved it until I was the last part I was all geared up for Olly'd reaction. He seemed to have giving up pursuing her for an explanation too fast when I thought he would be stronger. Granted he had his own family drama. One last point I'm sure he was thrilled to see Maddy at first when they reunited BUT when the shock went away I would be upset if I were Olly, he and his family went through something's and she just ignores him at that last part and they both saw each other in the window. I would have liked to see how the two of them worked through that process. You said you loved him, risked your life more than once by going outside for him. Then the grand moment he's leaving moving to God only knows where and you just close the curtains and sit back down. Oh heck no! I'd want to know why you blew me off.
I appreciate that John Green gives young people the benefit of the doubt. You DO get teenagers who are that thoughtful.
@Tess: Yes! So true! Nicely put@Georgia: Okay, but ALL of them? He has at least one main character like that in all of his books. He reminds me of a classmate I had who claimed he was only going to teach gifted and talented students. It's just unrealistic. Most teenagers are not like John Green characters.
