Dani (The Pluviophile Writer) LOL!

message 2: by Heather (new) - added it

Heather She also wrote The Haunting of Hill House which is supposed to be very good.

Cindy And I'd never heard of her. :( I might just go whole-hog and read this omnibus edition to get the floor-joist points: Novels and Stories. Plus, Joyce Carol Oates is the editor!

Ruby Hollyberry I just read a library copy of The Haunting of Hill House yesterday. It was great! I'm still thinking about all the different parts that were left unexplained. If you like it, I recommend The Red Tree by Caitlin Kiernan.

Patrick I just read this a couple of months ago. Damn good.

PS - I see what you're doing with the Ulysses thing...I won't be goaded...

Sasha I'ma come back to haunt you in like a year, Irish. Me and you and Joyce. You'll be forced to explain yourself, against my general observation that the Irish are inveterately illiterate.

In the meantime, I'm watching an ad for Extends.

Cindy Now that I've finished it, you should totally read this, Alex. There's a lot that fits with the collective behavior theme.

Ruby Hollyberry I forgot to say before that if you read this book with this cover (this edition, etc.) DO NOT READ THE INTRODUCTION. It is 100% demonstrably wrong and idiotic and will start you off badly. You can read it and get pissed at the idiot who wrote it afterward.

Sasha Ah, thank you Ruby! Being warned off a bad introduction is as valuable as being warned off bad fish by someone who just finished throwing up.

It's like you're new here or something.

Sasha Amateur night.
