Ew! Poetry!
Twenty short love poems by renowned Pablo Neruda. Coincidentally I think I must've read this like twenty years ago. My first poetry book, and sadly not my last.
I think Neruda is actually quite good, his fame precedes him; it's my issue, I just hate poetry. The only one I liked is number XVIII. “Here I Love You.�
And by like I mean it was the only one that didn’t make me barf uncontrollably.

Poesía ¡Pero qué asco!
Veinte poemas cortos de amor por el renombrado Pablo Neruda. Coincidentemente creo que leí esto casi veinte años atrás. Mi primer libro de poesía, y tristemente no el último.
De hecho creo que Neruda es bastante bueno, su fama lo precede; es mi problema, es sólo que yo odio la poesía. El único que me gustó es 18. “Aquí Te Amo.�
Y por gustar quiero decir que fue el único que no me hizo vomitar incontrolablemente.

Oh no... I actually love poetry, and I really like Turkish translations of Neruda poems, haven't read them in other languages unfortunately. Just stay away from poetry, Fede, for the sake of your gut health! Fair review!

I like poetry that ends with '... and in the darkness bind them,' wrapped within a fantasy epic....Otherwise, I just don't get it.
Ah, I'v read my share of bad poetry books and I empathize! Hope your next read is better. I'd also recommend Rumi if you haven't read any already - some of my favorite poems there.

IMO This is a great anthology, una de mis favoritas... so sad you didn't like it. But I get it, if everyone liked the same stuff we'll be in deep trouble

Lmao!! 😂 You always make me laugh! I will agree, poetry is not for everyone. Many people find deep meaning in poetry, but I honestly do not have the patience to look that deep� Great review as always, Federico!! <3
I just ordered this book from Amazon. I became obsessed with his poetry after one of his poems was used in a book by Katherine Center. Hoping I enjoy it more than you did! But, honest review. Thanks.

I'm with Rachel.....you always make me laugh! I agree with your opinion of poetry. With a few exceptions, once I outgrew my mother's reading of Mother Goose rhymes to us, I never quite developed a liking for poetry. Keep up those wonderful and entertaining reviews!

Federico, I get what you mean! I don't hate poetry, in fact, I believe I would actually enjoy it, but I'd have to be in quite a special mood for it and my world and activities don't usually get me closer to such mood. Who knows, maybe...someday?
