Such a great book. My second book by Lahiri and it did not disappoint. Her writing is beautiful and lyrical. I did see this movie many times as it is a favorite. Even though I know the story, the book seemed new to me. The audio version was so easy to listen to. I an fascinated by Indian culture and love reading about it. I can see myself reading this one over and over again and will be watching the movie again very soon.

So good to hear Margitte! I love Lahiri and she is another author that I have all her books. I hope you get a chance to read more from her.

I feel that when I read her stories, I am totally immersed in them. I have enjoyed all of her books but this is my favorite. Check out her short story bookies Sara - it's incredible how much of a life story she fits into a short story.

Because so many people have raved over this book, I've added it to my TBR list (although I don't have time at present).
Thanks, PorshaJo.

Yeah! That is her best of her short story books (obv as it won a Pulitzer). I hope you enjoy this one also. I'm so sad that many years ago I donated my copy to library. Still wish I had it. Enjoy it Sara! I'll look for your review.

Thanks Kevin! You can never go wrong with Lahiri. :-)
I hope that you are doing well and the writing is progressing. Miss you here on GR and reading your wonderful reviews.

Thanks Maureen! Though I do not feel this review does this wonderful book justice. Now I want to read this one again! :-)
