11th book in 2011

I was really looking forward on reading this book because many of my friends liked or more so, loved it. I have to say that it was refreshment from vampires, werewolves or witches that I am usually interested to read. The story of this book is unique as everything is controlled by the officials of the society. At the start of the story, Casia told the events of her Matching experience, in which the one she is selected to marry would be revealed to her. It was interesting to see when Xander was revealed to be her Matched and then he was not.

I did like the story but most of it is a transition of Casia learning not to go gentle as her grandfather told him and she learns more not to be with Ky, the guy she was supposed to be Matched with. The book rounded up with the Officials controlling every move the citizens do; the food they eat, who they’ll marry, what activities they could do and when they could do it.

Again and again, I go for the third guy! I did like Ky’s mysteriousness but I (once again) fell for Xander, Casia’s best friend and supposed-to-be-Matched. I mean, the guy is very kind (not the annoying type), very understanding and helpful even if he could be in danger in helping. How come there should always be a third guy (who happens to be always nice and caring) then got dumped, always?

Seriously, the hopeless romantic side of me wanted Xander to find his happiness. (and I know I’m thinking to much of these stories. Lol)
I found the book okay, a so-so, but not quite memorable or extraordinary as I thought and envisioned it would be. If there would be a next book, I’d like to see the changes hinted by the author and probably more excitement with it.
