Well call me surprised. Shocker of the century! I actually loved this book. I could not put it down. I was scared starting it due to what I thought would be inevitable romance but it was pretty minor in this one. But OH MAN did I wanna throw Adri to the wolves. What a terrible human. She got my blood boiling so friggin much. Also, cyborgs? Mind control? Moon people? Get outta here obviously I'm gonna like this book. All seriousness it is just well written. Cinder is a great character and you find yourself really associating with her plight, which kept me engaged. I can't really think of anything that bothered me about this book. But yea, wow.....never would have thought I would enjoy this as much as I did. 5 stars, A+, some other arbitrary ranking system maximum etc etc. Read it!

Books are books. Cinder just happens to have a more girl-based fandom, as does Throne of Glass; there's no shame in males reading a book from a female author with a female protagonist that happens to be based on a fairytale produced for both guys and women.

Yes! At some point. I have some other series to finish but I'll probably sprinkle these ones in every once in awhile.

I'm really interested to see what you think of the sequel! I loved Cinder, but Scarlet fell flat for me.
Jesse my man! I'm interested as well, Jamie said Scarlett is her least favourite. Second book syndrome perhaps? Cinder is realllll good though so I'm expecting a bit of a downward trend. Hope it's not enough to derail me from reading the rest of them.

Scarlet was my least favorite too!
I'm so pleased that you loved this!! I bet Jamie was happy you did too. :) I think as a whole Scarlet was maybe my least favorite out of all 4, but I still really liked it! It really is an awesome series!

I just wanted to throw out there, that the next three books (equally great) are going to be science and gadget heavy which you may find yourself enjoying a lot. It's gonna be more to true to a Sci-Fi retelling.

I couldn't believe how much I liked this one too Jeff. My wife gave me hell the entire time I was reading it because of the cover lol! The next ones are even better!

I'm so glad you liked this!! I was a little nervous you wouldn't haha, but really the series is amazing. I love how the series kinda transcends genres - it's so much more than just a retelling or science fiction.
All the plot twists and surprises in the book were the best parts! I was so shocked when we learned about the moon country as well! I think it was an amazing job on the author's part, because she found a way to show all these things without confusing the readers. I'm definitely going to try out her other books!
