Mudbound has everything I look for in a book. I love books that challenge the way I view myself and the world. I love southern literature and stories involving WWII. I love books that are charged with emotion. That's why I love this book so much. War is hell. It is appalling how we as humans treat others. How we can view Hitler as pure evil for his views on white supremacy when many in America held similar views in regards to blacks. This is a story of trying to survive such hatred. It is also a story of surviving the challenges of living on a farm and finding strength while overcoming loss. An amazing read. Got goosebumps. Had tears in my eyes. The ending was more than satisfying. It rang true. Was one of the better endings I've read. One of the best books I've read. Thankful a fellow reader from Shelfari suggested.

Thank you, Barbara. I really appreciate it. Yes. It was a movie on Netflix. I heard it was amazing. I haven't checked the movie out yet. I strongly recommend Mudbound to all readers, but especially those who love historical fiction.

Thank you and you're welcome. I hope a copy of Mudbound finds its way to you and that you like it as much as I did.
