did not like it

I just cannot take it any longer! Maybe it was unfair that I gave the ending 1 star but I wouldn't know because I never made it there. This book just bugged me so much in every way. I love the paranormal romance genre, that and dystopias are what get me going book-wise; so I was thinking this would be another to add to the list: Fever Series, Black Dagger Brotherhood, Lords Of The Underworld, etc, etc. I even ignored the terrible Mills & Boon style cover and pretended it didn't offend my eyes because some great books have effin' lousy covers.

Warning bells should probably have started ringing about the time I realised the (so-called) heroine was named none other than Bella, and the (so-called) dark and sexy Jacob (yes, that's right... now where's Edward?) had a bloody ponytail - I mean, what? You can count on one hand how many men can get away with that look. Like Josh Holloway in Lost *sigh* And then, of course, the first time they meet he's swooping in to save her. Oh damn that cliche! I hate damsels in distress, especially seeing as her 'distress' was falling out of a window head first - is this woman a complete idiot?

The characters were less than engaging, to put it mildly. I found myself not giving a damn whether they lived, died or slept together. But, yes, I was anxiously anticipating that last part, surely the worst book can be pulled up to 2 stars with some decent smut. However, just like a Mills and Boon novel, she was your typical virginal (and seriously annoying) heroine and he was the big bad demon trying to resist temptation because of her sweet, innocent, pure... give it a rest, I was sick of hearing how Bella was the next Virgin Mary - get it on, already! Jacob's endless patronisation of her was aggravating as well, why did he have to call her "little flower" every time they spoke, it wasn't cute it was just cringy.

If you haven't worked it out yet... I didn't like this book. Will not bother with the rest of the series. Thank you.

I couldn't agree more.Everything you said was true and through out the book I felt like banging my head with a wall.God!I have no idea how I finished the book.

Ashley Oh no why on earth would she name her female lead Bella. I was hoping that she published her book prior to Twilight making this fact a little more acceptable. Unfortunately I checked and she did not. Twilight came first.

Lol....So did I!When I first read the book and noticed Jacob and Belle as the name of main characters,I checked to see if it was published before twilight. But unfortunately it wasn't.

Ashley Lol I couldnt help myself I just had to check. The names would have been okay if she published the book before! I know thats not exactly fair because I am sure there are hundreds of books with repeated names in them. However Twilight is just so infamous..

Exactly my thoughts...and to add the fact that the book was a headache obviously didn't make me feel better.

Bianca im forcing myself through this book atm, and so far i feel exactly the same...

Petra Friend told me this is good book, now I maybe change my opinion

Ashley Petra it wasent terrible. But it also wasent anything to write home about. If I could go back I would have not wasted my time. However I did enjoy her Hunting Julian(which I found for 50cents at a used book store) book. Maybe you should try that one first and if you like it then decided whether or not to continue with her as an author.

Petra I will, thanks :)

boemum If you didn't like it, you should just tell us:D No hinting, we can take it...what did you really think? JK:) Thanks for the review and the time saved.

Kaylah Eiramenna Carrell I think you should have read on because most of the complaints you had didn't last throughout...idc about the similar names to twilight the book was its own in many ways
plus Bella ended up being one of the heroes not the damsel in distress
don't judge a book by its cover..that's my motto

Emily May Why read on when you hate a book? I think I gave the book enough time to turn itself around but it just kept throwing up more of the same. And I don't personally consider Bella to be a hero at any point during that series, but each to their own.

Jamie Campbell you took the words right out of mouth with this piece crap

Tracy D. It sounds like the name similarities wouldn't have bothered you if you had read this book first. I read this book long before I even knew what Twilight was, and I loved it.

Alison Took the words right out of my mouth! I have this book up to 50% before moving it to my DNF pile

Lauren Ditto! You perfectly summed up all of my issues with this book!
