I'm pretty sure there's a cute story in here, but I'm unwilling to put up with the extremely poor writing to find out for sure. The writing is very simplistic and the dialogue is stilted and awkward. I just can't.

ALSO -- Pet peeve: Look, if you're going to do a portion of your book with a first-person POV of a child, either commit to it or change it so that it's the narrator reminiscing about her childhood & telling the scenes as such. Don't give me some cutsey "I'm a 6-year old!" voice telling the story, but then have that same kid use words like 'epitome' and 'audacity'. Make up your damn mind as to how you're writing this.

Son I just finished the book and really enjoyed it overall but I agree with your comment about the author narrating the story using words that no child of that age would use, unless they're a complete genius, and in this case she definitely was not!

mich hehe, yeah, I can't help noticing stuff like that :P Glad you enjoyed this overall! I was hoping to like it too (I love childhood-friends-to-romance/reunion stories!) oh well.

mich hehe, I was in the mood for something light - cute & sexy. Who knew it would be so hard to find a good one? (and I still haven't satisfied that craving. . .I'm DNF-ing left and right! :P)

message 4: by mich (new) - rated it 1 star

mich I do! I don't read a lot of them, but sometimes I'm just in the mood for it (like now). But because I don't read a lot of them, I don't really know who are the good authors out there.

I know what you mean about the NA pit of . . .books. (yeah, totally, that's totally what I was planning to say! :D) But I lean towards it I guess cuz I prefer the characters to be in their 20s. I dunno why. I just do :P

mich thank you!

mich Lol, dude - I just went to Amazon to grab it, and it appears that I already bought it. . . back on Sept. 19, 2014! Lol! Okay, I think it's time I finally read it ;)

(geez, my book buying is out of control man! I don't even know what I own.)

mich aw, sorry you had to comment twice before I responded, Amanda! My bad :P
(sorry this book didn't work out for you either! )

Sarah Linfoot 100% agree!! I finished because I rarely DNF but it was PAINFUL at times and so so predictable. I also didn’t like how young they made the heroin seem. Like they really played the “little sister angle and i wanted to her to be a bit more mature, she was an author and an adult

BookishLeo Omg I agreee. The thing is I read marriage for one I enjoyed it tremendously. This? I couldn’t wait for it to end

Alexa Barrios Agree with this 100%. This is the 3rd ever book I DNF and while I feel extreme guilt of putting an unfinished book down, I just couldn’t force myself to keep pushing through. Needs better editing.

Hira I hated olive character here. She literally have no backbone. Just self pity girl who is helplessly in love with jason lol so cringy and eye rolling for me to be that desperate for a guy like jason. A fuckboy actually who are those people who like disgusting men like jason ughh 🤮
