The Book Thief

Where shall I start with The Book Thief? I went into this book with no idea what to expect, also I had never read a book by Markus Zusak. Once I’d finished I was lost for words, it was simply a riveting read.
Zusak is such a talented writer he slowly weaves you into the story and then will suddenly throw you into the deep end with something you weren’t expecting and then will go back to what he was previously talking about. Each time he did this it just left me wanting more. Also the detail and descriptions he puts into the story make it seem so vivid and real that several times I forgot that death was telling the story, I felt as if I was right there in Himmel Street, Germany with Liesel and the Hubermann’s.
Overall The Book Thief was a powerful and thought evoking read.
Memorable quotes;
”When death captures me the boy vowed, “he will feel my
fist on his face
Personally, I quite like that. Such stupid gallantry.
Yes
I like that a lot.

My lib has it in the audio form. Do you think it'll be a good audio read?

No worries. I'll try the audio and let you know what I think! I love audio books because they keep me company during my long drive to work and back. But, yeah, you have to be selective at times because sometimes the narrators aren't very good.
Have you read Revolution? It's a good audio book! One of my favorite audio reads actually. That's definitely something I'd try for starters!
