did not like it

In this book Armstrong cherry picks the worst bits of Christian history - Crusades, progroms, Jesus cursing his enemies - and then argues something along the lines of "Well, Muhammed wasn't quite as bad as that!" She seems to think this constitutes an apologia for Islam. There is actually a passage where she argues Muhammed's slaughter of Jews was acceptable because it wasn't as bad as Hitler's!
A terribly dishonest book.

Serendy Armstrong was a nun but converted to Islam.

Johannes Bertus I don't think she converted, but she has a great fondness for Islam. She calls herself a freelance monotheist.

U Y She didn't convert. The episodes related to the three Jewish tribes were of the time. Today they would be viewed differently naturally. At that time, Muhammad dealt with a tribalistic society in the way he believed to be appropriate. There are lessons for us all in the details of the episodes. I would not at all call the book dishonest.

Dan I read the book and didn't come away with any of what you put forth. There are many pages of notes on sources.
