This book was recommended to me by a good friend of mine and my first read of Cambria Hebert’s story. I might read more of her works in the coming months.

Text is the story of Honor Calhoun and Nathan Reed. Honor is an author and Nathan is an active duty Marine and was stationed in Pennsylvania. Their meeting was kind of interesting and unusual.
About the characters, I liked Honor, or at least in SOME parts of the story. She is brave, funny and witty. I liked that she was able to think in her situation. She was kidnapped and all and yet she managed to do something to get out of the hell that she was in.

“That even though you look like a warrior and act like a warrior, underneath all that toughness is really a big mushy marshmallow.��

Nathan on the other hand was a bit mysterious for me, it seems like he had issues in his past that still haunts him up to now. Oh and yes, I liked him so much. he was intense, protective and yes, HOT, too.

The book was good but I do have some issues about it.

First, It was funny to think that the Kidnapper didn’t even notice that his cellphone was missing and that he just left his victim in a hole?
Second, Who on Earth will trust someone she just met through text message not to mention that the person she’s talking to is in a way acquainted with her kidnapper?
And third, considering the circumstances as to how Nathan and Honor met, I don’t think insta-love, insta-attraction, insta-lust is appropriate. The female protagonist seemed to bounce back quickly for someone who was kidnapped, assaulted or nearly raped.

It was 3 out of 5 stars for me because of the above mentioned reasons. The book was good but it wasn’t just convincing enough to make me feel the story.
