EXPERIMENTAL READ OF THE MONTH: MAY 2016
Every month my friends and I go out of our comfort zones and embrace the world outside historical and contemporary romance. Thanks for accompanying me on this wild ride, sraxe!

DNF@24%.

Let's play a guessing game. Why do you think sraxe and I both DNF-ed this book?
A. Because it's predictable as hell, and we found out who the killer was early on in the book
B. Because the main character, Katie, was an invertebrate with a non-existent personality
C. Because the love interest, Richard, was a douchebag who kissed another woman later on in the book (granted, Richard and Katie weren't officially together, but hell, man, you were already putting the moves on her, you mofo)
D. Because the side characters were frustrating as fuck
E. Because the subject of cheating wasn't handled properly (the cheater even got a HEA with his mistress)
F. All of the above

Oh, you answered F?

Ding. Ding. Ding. We have a winner, folks!

Your prize is that you get to avoid wasting your 6.99 USD on this crappy story. Congratulations!

I don't know about you, but lately I'm not finding any books I like much. Are you in that rut too??? Just started a Marsha Canham book a couple nights ago, and right off the bat I can't stand either the heroine or the hero. Ugh.

I was in a similar rut a few weeks ago. But I have read some pretty good books lately. :) Amy Sandas' Luck Is No Lady was pretty good, if you're in the mood for something light.

Catch of the Day was a fun contemporary read that made me laugh a lot.

Bespectacledreader Haven't read anything from her D: Think I will steer away ~

I'm a fan of hers, but she's a hit or miss for sure. :)

sraxe lol this review is too real. And seriously, when I was writing my review I was like "wait...what was Katie's personality again??" and I realized she had left literally no impression on me. AND SHE'S THE MAIN CHARACTER.

Zoe Didn't you give the same writer another 1 star the last time you read her book for the experimental book of the month? Why continue? Is she such a great choice for "experiments"? lol

sraxe haha no, last time Dani and I read her book, which was No Place Like Home, we both gave her a 4-star rating. We were kind of on a Clark-high and wanted to get to another book by her asap.

Thanks, sraxe!

LOL Same here! My wallpaper had more personality than her. Gosh.

Hi Zoe! sraxe and I both gave the other book you're referring to 4 stars. LOL

Thanks for the recommendations, Daniella! You've given me really good ones in the past. :-)

You're welcome, Jayla! :) I hope you find the right book to take you out of your funk :)

Chris Lamb I actually rated the book a 4. This book was one of the most stressing I have read. Yet I liked this stress and anxiety which Ms Clark knows how to share with her readers. I was only disappointed with the outcome; otherwise I will recommend.

Art the Turtle of Amazing Girth I'm currently struggling through this one, I'm unsure if I'll continue or not, I'm at 29% through, and I very bored by it.
