it was amazing
bookshelves: nonfiction, pgs-400-499, audiobook, cover-color-white, 5-motherfucking-stars

The audiobook quality was pure crap. I was also upset that Kiedis didn't narrate his own autobiography. And I was not a fan of the narrator they used. It seemed every other sexual encounter Kiedis had was "the most amazing, the most profound, etc" he ever had. That shit got old fast. The way this was written was very matter of fact. This is what happened, then this, then this. There was no real feeling of remorse or regret for all the drug use and fucked up behavior and infidelity.

BUT with all that being said, I could not put this book down. I was so engrossed in his story it was ridiculous. Every time he mentioned a specific interview or performance or basically any incident that was caught on camera I was immediately on YouTube watching it. This was a crazy ride and I loved every second of it.

✵D²¹³¾Âá²¹²Ô²¹âœµ Great review! I read some pretty bad reviews about this book, but after your review I am again considering to read it; I understand when you say it was total crap, but you can't put the book down :)

Krissy I read the bad reviews and I actually agree with some of the things mentioned! But no matter how bad or how unlikable a protagonist I have to give credit to the book when I can't put it down and I'm completely immersed in the story. This is a perfect example of it's so bad it's good.

Sarah Love Keidis!! I’ll have to check this out.

message 4: by Robert (new)

Robert What was up with him not narrating? Instead they got Rider Strong from Boy Meets World? I feel like it he doesn't care to narrate his own story why should I care enough to listen. I'm pretty sure Flea narrates his autobiography and from the parts I read it was a lot more down to earth.

I tried listening to the audiobook during this COVID19 lockdown but couldn't get into it. Just same escapades again and again.
