Clementine (The Clockwork Century, #1.1)

Not a ton to say here. Priest wrote another excellent tale of airships, pirates, and steam-powered monstrosities. I love this series - the setting, the characters, all of it.
The circumstances surrounding this particular entry are kind of interesting. Cherie Priest was asked to write a book for Subterranean Press. Her usual publisher has first right of refusal on any novel over a certain word count, so Clementine falls just on the short side of that barrier.
Unfortunately, the shortness of this story hurts it a bit. The book has a beginning and an end, but it really feels like there is no middle. Things just sort of tie up right after they begin. So, while I enjoyed the story overall, it is definitely weaker than Boneshaker or Dreadnought.

Like I said, I did really enjoy Dreadnought. It has a different protagonist (each of Priest's books in this series take place in the same universe, but revolve around different people). Though, some of the things you didn't dig in Boneshaker may carry over.
I also recently read and really liked "The Strange Affair of Spring Heeled Jack."
I'll try to think up a couple more.
