I don't know even know where to start. This is my first time reading A. A. dark and let me just say I love everything about my first read. I love the pen name, I love the title, I love the cover and most of all I love this crazy dark read.

The story is based in its entirety in the placed called Whitlock. Whitlock is a city within itself, with a governing ruling body, a medical facility, a town center, it's on "police force". It's a distopia for those with very outrageous, twisted fettishes (fettishes might be to tame of a word, but I got nothing else) that can afford to join the community where with the right amount of money they can buy anything and anyone their twisted mind desires.

The book starts with Bram, who is the head Master of Whitlock. What he says goes to the point of his guards exacting his discipline even when it's to one of their own. He has come to notice a particular slave who has him struggling to maintain his separation from the deprevity of those he oversees. Brams right hand man and "friend" from a very young age is West. West comes to want everything Bram has, and will stop at nothing to get it.

24690 is the slave Bram has been watching. She came to Whitlock as a child of only 10 and was bought by her Master. Her Master is suddenly found dead and she finds herself in the middle of the struggle between Bram and West.

This story unravels with so many twists and turns it keeps you guessing. Truly the events of what nightmares are made of. It does end on a cliffhanger and after a very intense scene that is left unfinished.
