I taught my oldest son how to read using this book.
He did not enjoy reading at all and because of the subject matter was interesting and kept his imagination going, he successfully read this book completely!
His first novel ever!
We read the whole series together after that.
I was so happy to find a book that I could share with my son.
This book series will always keeps a special place in my heart because of the bond it helped me to forge with my son.
So worth the read and reread for me.
Amazing in its simplicity.

I read the first chapter of this book and couldn't finish it. Everyone likes it except me :(

It might just be because of my son that I read this book but at the end it was me who wanted to know! The last two books I read before my son did. It's because it's a child book at first. It gets better as you get into the series. But I totally get it Classy. I've had books like that as well. Everyone loved them but me.

Yep, by book four you're not reading children's lit anymore. It is intense!
