I am stunned what a debut by author Jane Harper The Dry is one outstanding read that I could not put down, the setting of Biewarra in Melbourne was serene tranquil farming area loved Aaron Falk thought he was strong but also had a weak side to his persona which we see later in the book.


Luke Hadler & his family were found in a farm house in Biewarra shot with his own gun WAS IT SUICIDE OR DID SOMEONE ELSE DO IT!!
His daughter Charlotte wasn't touched WHY??


Aaron Falk & his father Eric return to the town 20 years after something terrible had happened to Ellie Deacon Aaron is hiding a secret only Luke his best friend & his father knows about & doesn't want anyone finding out about.


As he digs deeper into the case Falk & his team find something about Luke that Falk finds hard to accept, he then looks into Mal Deacon Ellie's father who is hiding something Falk won't stop till he finds the truth?

the book alternates between past & present there are a a lot of twists in this that will set your heart pulsating, Arron had a love affair with Ellie years earlier, he tried to protect her but when he finds out what happened to her dread sets in his guilt consumes him.

The ending is thrilling & the pace builds slowly to one climatic ending.
