A m a z i n g. Really, something else entirely. When I saw all of the glowing reviews on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ I was very excited to start! We read this book in my Queer Theory course at Portland State. It's an expat setting in France, set in the early twentieth century, which is already a setting that I enjoy.
David is the main character and Giovanni is . . . a missed opportunity for David? I'm not sure. Anyway, the prose is make-you-cry beautiful, the setting is apt, and the book itself is one of the first gay narratives to gain mainstream approval in American lit. Really, a must-read.
