I don't know what to make of CoN. I liked the first book well enough but the momentum didn't seem to carry into book 2 for me.
Are these books supposed to be full-on alternate reality for Nick, or is it a mix of reality and other situations? Someone please explain to me what's going on here? I'm confused by Nick knowing Simi in this series, when I'd assumed that (DH spoiler)(view spoiler) Or did he know her already in DH and I somehow just missed the connection that they had been old friends/acquaintences?
I don't know if I have the patience for a 'what could have been' spin on the lore, but if there are deep-tie crossover facts that I can't miss, someone let me know so I can try to dig back in and some point. Nick is one of my favorite DH characters but I have to admit to liking the newer big bad Nick with mommy issues better than the Hawaiian shirt, rollerblading version, so I might just be struggling with going backward.

From what I have read and the path I saw forming in DH before the last book is this: (view spoiler)[CoN is DH Nick trying to change his future by correcting his past. (hide spoiler)] In the last CoN book there was an interesting twist. Unless you would like everything spoiled I will stop now. �

Also the last DH book...dont read it unless you want like 2 books rehashed and like 75 pages of new content. I wanted to break things. That book should've been so much better than the drivel that it was.
I'm actually current on DH; I just haven't taken the time to review the past several books. You were right about me changing my mind about Styxx. I ended up loving his book (probably my favorite next to Acheron's). This series drives me crazy. Most of the books are pretty mediocre. But then one book will come along and be excellent, and I get hooked again.
Do you think that reading CoN enriches the DH experience, or it even necessary? If Nick is trying to (view spoiler) do you think the ending will tie intimately to DH?
Does this mean that Nick originally had a high school experience where he didn't know (view spoiler) There's no way I'm ready or willing to go back and re-read DH at this time, so I'm unsure how much crossover I will catch.
