My overprotectiveness? My temper? My jealousy? I’ve killed for you, slave. I’ve killed for you more times than I’ve ever killed for anyone else. More times than you even know about.

Whitlock, a subterranean fortress was like stepping into heaven and hell. For those looking for pleasure evoked from pain and death, the place was what dreams were made of, just Heaven. For the slaves who were trapped inside, it was a nightmare so horrendous that most found ways to kill themselves to escape the torment within this Hell.

On her 10th birthday Everleigh was kidnapped from her loving family to become slave 24690 within the white walls of Whitlock and was sold to her father's enemy.
Fourteen years later her Master is murdered and she becomes available for re-sale.

Bram Whitlock the Main Master, owner and ruler of Whitlock, with his best friend, West Harper, have been watching and protecting her from the horrendous acts that occur within the white walls. Over the years both men have been surpressing their own personal desires for slave 24690 and they both have their own personal plans for her until betrayal ran high and all bets are off.

I loved this book from the beginning with the powerful prologue from Bram. There's a medieval feel to Whitlock giving me a feeling, where evil ran high. More than once I had to put my iPad away, needing to do something else but failed miserably since I couldn't concentrate on anything and started reading again within 5 minutes. Although, after the strong prologue, I got distracted a lot for the first part of the book. But when you are halfway into the book the gruesomeness starts, with characters lacking any moral compass, whatsoever!

I loved to read how Everleigh grows into this strong woman and by the end I was laughing out loud and so wanted to help her get some with sweet revenge and I beg of you, Alaska, please get me book 2 ASAP!

Bump-Bump, she cries. And again, I cry back. Love me, I plead. Feel me, I beg. I am not without you, and you are not without me. We are together, even if we’re apart.

Paul McDonald That first sentence is incredible, I hope that one day I can write a line as imposing as that.
