5++ "...a freaking prism." Stars
Let me just start by saying #IamGRIPPED and you need to #GetGRIPPED.
The prequel of Grip & Bristol's story in Flow is not to be missed for a full immersion into their journey of friendship, love, and understanding. The chemistry simmering between these two characters written by the brilliant pen of Kennedy Ryan electrocutes. All romance readers and lovers will feel the buzz of this incredible story!
Kennedy Ryan constructed, first and foremost, a beautiful friendship. Her prose radiates vibrancy making readers feel alive within the pages of this story. Your heart and your mind are challenged to believe in these two, understand them and their plights, and ultimately fall deep into their love story. This budding relationship starts by happenstance and the foundation for their friendship laid with building blocks of blunt honesty. The immediate comfort they feel in each others presence is a breath of fresh air. And the way in which they present themselves shows their fight. How important decency, kindness, and understanding are to each them. As an avid reader I love when characters make me think as well as feel - Grip and Bristol provide each in spades.
What I love most about this relationship is the intense loftiness of it's importance to today's times and issues. Built partially within social constructs of race and it how it effects everyone Kennedy Ryan provides provocative and intelligent conversations that stimulate both Grip and Bristol as well as the reader. A welcome and open surprise to both these characters that strengthens and seals their connection.
This romance proves culturally and socially important. It's also full of unrelenting passion. Passion for each other, a understanding of needing passion for yourself, and passion for their crafts and their futures. In Flow Kennedy Ryan sets readers up for greatness, for what is sure to be an EPIC journey through love and friendship and that fierce passion. It's an amazing start to what will no doubt be an amazing love story. I can't wait. A must read for ALL readers who love complex, stimulating relationships and truly marveling story-telling.
