Really beautiful descriptions of Ancient Rome, good knowledge and brilliant interpretation of history. I like the close up look of an empty soul who happens to be an emperor and how this emptiness slowly turns into obsession, madness and (self) destruction. A good parallel between a single person problems and the condition of a whole empire. Really worth reading.
