it was ok

2.5

I hate to say, 'I really didn't like this classic', but I didn't. It just dragged on, and on, and on, and on for me.

I did not like the style of writing nor the characters, pretty much anything apart from the idea, but I rather more enjoyed Neal Shusterman's 'Unwind' which is based on a similar theme.

Andrea I haven't read this one, but his "An Artist of the Floating World" was just exquisite. Have you tried it?

(and of course the Remains of the Day was excellent)

Sharon Haven't read any others yet but got 'Remains...' on the to read list, and I'll look this one up too. It doesn't put me off if the first book I read by an author isn't to my liking as I've found several times that I can just love the next one !

Thanks for the rec!

Hope today went ok :-)

Andrea You might enjoy it.
And its still Friday morning here ugh....

Sharon It's 0110 here in Saudi. I'm supposed to be going to bed but I've been reading !!!!

Just can't take any more in. At that point where you think what was that. And you have to re read the whole page again cos you realise that all you've been thinking about is making a cheese sandwich or finding some hidden chocolate. So I guess I'm going to bed now.

Just looked up that book and it looks promising. One reviewer even says that she swore she would never read another of his books after 'never let...' but gave this one 5* I think. So looks like a winner.

Have a good day then :-)

Sharon

Andrea ha! know what you mean - one wakes up and can't remember the last chapter and have to backtrack...

give it a go, at least it's short!

Kevin Ansbro Ditto, Sharon.
I can't believe that this is the same author who wrote The Remains of the Day.
