Some signs of an abusive relationship:
Humiliation. Manipulation. Jealousy. Guilt. Violence.

This is probably the first time I have come across a series that features a male protagonist who is abused by his wife. While the author used the crime investigation, suspense, and mystery as main elements to drive the narrative throughout the series, Fallen offered something different from the previous four installments: more personal. I could feel the intense disgust in the scene between Angie and Sara, and Angie’s confrontation with Will was sickening. Btw, (view spoiler)
A fast-paced read!

Tandie Trying to decide if this series is for me. How was the first book?

-ya This series focus a lot on the crime investigation, and character development, Tandie. Honestly, I didn't jump right into book 2 after finishing the first book, mainly because I wish there was more Will scenes in book 1 and I wasn't sure if CSI stuff was something I wanted to read before bedtime. The writing and my curiosity for Will character are what motivated me to dig into the second book, and now I am going for book 6 soon!;) Btw, see if it is available in your library cuz these ebooks are pricey. HTH!

Tandie Thanks! I might even see if my library has the audio, sometimes that's a nice way to try out a new series.

-ya Most of her books are available in my local library, in ebook format and/or audio. Fingers crossed your library has them too:D

ÓË¥R²¹³¦³ó±ð±ôÓË¥ Wonderful review, Ya! You're right, I can't remember if I've ever read a book where the abuser was the female. I guess Angie just gets more horrible as the series goes on. :(

-ya Omg. This Angie bitch is just ...crazy, Rachel. I want her to just die already. I pray Karin Slaughter won't mess up Will's HEA. I am really hesitant to start the next book cuz I heard it is about Will's past. I assume that means I will have to read Angie's bs! yuck:(

That would make me nervous, too. I usually speed read/skim over frustrating parts like that, lol! I hope she doesn't mess up Will's HEA either, because I won't want to continue with the series. Maybe we'll get a break and she'll kill off Angie. Here's hoping! :)

-ya lol. I actually read those confrontational scenes in this book like...three times! haha.. I think it is because the scenes are short, but packed with powerful words. Besides, I kept waiting for Will to man up and do something. lol

ÓË¥R²¹³¦³ó±ð±ôÓË¥ I HATE Angie so much! Ugh! Besides that, I'm loving this series! So many flawed and multi-layered characters. The mystery and thrill with this one was intense. Loved Amanda, even though she is a complete bitch, and her "old gals". I wish she was nicer to Will even though I don't think he'd know what to do with that. :)

-ya Yay! I am so glad you enjoy this series, Rachel. I know I should start book 6 but I have heard the back story between Angie and Will will be in book 6 or 7, not sure which one exactly:( *urg*

Me too! I think the back story between Angie and Will is in book 6, Criminal, the one I'm currently reading. It's also a flash to Amanda and Evelyn's (Faith's mom) past. How they started in the police force and a case they're investigating. It was tough to be a woman on the force back then! I know why Amanda is such a ball-buster now! So it's not completely the Angie & Will backstory, thank god!

I am a little worried to be this far in the series, knowing there's only 3 more (including a novella) before I have to wait until 2018 for another installment. Hope the last book doesn't leave off on a cliffy, although, none of the books have so far.

-ya Ooh, it is good to know the plot in book 6 doesn't entirely center around Angie/Will backstory.

Only 3 more to go?! You totally binge read this series! I hope Will's relationship with Sara takes to the next level:) From what I have read so far, I feel they are a good match.

I know! Only three more. I don't see a release date for the next one, so maybe I should slow down! I do think Sara is a great match for Will, too. I just hope Angie disappears for their sake.
