Gilead (Gilead, #1)

I do not read a lot of fiction, but The Wife read this and called the prose "luminous". I mean, wow, luminous. Who can resist that?
It was a good read, and the prose was definitely poetic in parts. The book provided great insight into the protagonist's reflection upon his life, which, "even" as a pastor, was filled with the same stumbles and moral dilemmas with which the uncollared deal. HIs wife is probably the hero of the novel. We should all have a mate with her empathy and coping skills in our golden years.
