Always Pouting why read charles Dickens period

Nemo ☠️ (pagesandprozac) @Pouting tru tho ;DD

Jason Because while Waters is one of today’s finest novelists, Dickens is one of the finest novelists of all-time. Waters herself would be the first person to tell you that her work is not a substitute for Dickens and that a reader impoverishes himself or herself in avoiding Dickens.

Nemo ☠️ (pagesandprozac) @Jason so much eloquence from someone who, by the current available evidence, seems to not be aware of the concept of tongue-in-cheek statements

Jim You can read and love both. Fingersmith is a definite improvement on Oliver Twist. Tipping the Velvet as a coming of age novel is on a par with the delightful Great Expectations.
