it was amazing

I didn't want this fabulous story to end. I went in blind, not reading any reviews and I was not disappointed. This was told in two POVs, one in the present and one in the past, set in bonnie Scotland. I won't give away anything, but my friend, Lisazj1, has posted a very nice review which gives a wonderful summary of the story. Listening to this really brought the story to life for me the narrator was simply marvelous. I had not read anything from Susanna Kearsley before, but I can assure you that I will read more from her in the future.

I felt the bond between us as I sat and watched the sunrise fade to morning light above the sea that seemed now to be casting off its winter face, the long waves rolling in to dance more lightly on the sand.

It was a simple thing—a small but heavy square of silver with a red stone at its centre. No, I thought. Not possible. But there it was.

"At length, at length, I have thee in my Arms; Tho' our Malevolent Stars have struggled hard, And held us long asunder".
