2.5 stars rounding up because while I did not necessarily like it, it didn't really bother me.
well, this is awkward O.o I did not love this :/ review will come :)
quietly baffled at not liking this all that much :/
available for swap within Australia. Review to come.

I am about 100 pages in (and have to stop now until kids are in bed tonight). I am liking it so far (not yet loving it ;)

[pauses ...]
i didn't love it :/
feeling a little out of the loop on this one (after reading so many awesome reviews)
i liked some parts but it never went above a 3 star read for me (at parts, it felt just "okay". overall finished with a general felling of 'cute but meh')
[i feel awkward about not getting into this :/ ]

I was into it initially, but as it progressed somehow became more disinterested and by the end, i was rather disengaged, even bored.
weird, as the end chapters is what you are hanging out for, but by the time i got there, i just felt nothing. even had that 'tempted to skim read" thing going on in the last chapter (!)

i loved anna as well. was so into it ~ even re-read it nearly straight away.
i think i am the exception here (going by all the other reviews). i am sure you will love it (but i can't wait to hear what you think)
i think i feel doubly bad as i was SO certain i would love and devour it so i feel at a loss :/

i think i am the exceptio..."
Just emailed back :)

@ Sandy ~ read it last night. I thought of you! (and even scrolled through here to see what you rated it ~ now that we are GR friends ;) ~ but you are invisible about it ;) )
I still will read Isla, for sure.

I did not grin, or swoon. and was often irked at some of the strategies the author employed to keep tension in the plot. Events and characters behaviour did not feel organic (from characters) but very orchestrated (from the author).
will review by the end of the weekend. a little unsure what to say really. don't want to rant or seem jaded :/
I find myself more intrigued to read a book when the reviews are a bit mixed instead of ALL 5 stars. It takes bravery to give a book all your friends love a lesser rating.

it is a bit startling to see how loved this has been so far. i wonder if giving out 5 stars is infectious? Seems everyone had such a completely different reading experience with this book than me.
also, i LIKE contemp YA best, especially with a strong romance. so i thought i was guaranteed to love this :/
Books are so funny like that, huh? Sometimes I feel like more often the ones I pick up that I have the most guaranteed feeling I will love let me down. Or how it will do nothing for me and I can know that if I had just read it 2 weeks ago I would have loved it.
I'm not too crazy about contemp YA myself, so Anna was a really nice surprise for me.

Ah well, I'm still going to read it because I've already pre-ordered a copy and I'd like to see the book side by side with Anna on my bookshelf. :P I guess it's good that I'm more cautious about it, I don't have to go crazy while waiting for the book to be delivered.

i will write a review (sometime over the weekend ;)

you can read the first chapter online:
:D

i actually borrowed a friends ARC ~
if i do end up with a copy i won't be keeping it ~ so i'll add it to my swap shelf if that happens :D
