Oh girl .... if you hate it and only if ... go read my "rant-view" ... it's ugly!

Like seriously if you love this book ... don't read my review lol

Heather Also I sort of hope you hate it because I'm an really intrigued by this rant you mention <3

message 8: by emma (new) - rated it 1 star

emma Honestly reading book rants is so much fun, even if they're about books I enjoyed.

I mean...I mostly enjoyed the other two books but I definitely still had a lot of complaints about them. So regardless of if I like/dislike this there will prob still be a decent amount of trashing in my review 💁🏼

grace || hiatus Frankie's review had the most fucking amazing trash ever

grace || hiatus I'm looking forward to your trashing emma

message 11: by emma (new) - rated it 1 star

emma I'm almost done, I'm so excited to read Frankie's review

This is honestly gonna be one of the most scathing reviews I've ever written, prepare yourselves

Malak Aww I'm excited for your review Emma

emma You guys don't even know.....this might actually be worse than my Flame in the Mist rant

message 15: by Britt (new)

Britt I'm not a fantasy fan, but basically EVERYONE in my list has read this book and idk anything about it or the author, but the reviews are ALWAYS split 1 or 5-star. This'll be interesting. 😂

K Britt wrote: "I'm not a fantasy fan, but basically EVERYONE in my list has read this book and idk anything about it or the author, but the reviews are ALWAYS split 1 or 5-star. This'll be interesting. 😂"

😬😬 I wouldn't call this fantasy, it's more like an erotica/paranormal romance.

Halls Oh snap, 1 star! tbh I'm leaning 1 or 2 stars myself. I still have 200 pages left but it is a painfully dull read!

message 18: by emma (new) - rated it 1 star

emma Yeah, I'd have to agree with Kainat, Britt......I feel like this series tried to be both erotica and high fantasy and failed at both so it reads almost like paranormal romance in a way

message 19: by emma (new) - rated it 1 star

emma @Halle I've seen the same thing!! Hahaha I'm writing a whole rant about this so I won't go into it here but this is a mess of poor character development and nonexistent and then just straight up bad plotting

Camille ☼ I'll go prepare the popcorn

message 21: by emma (new) - rated it 1 star

emma Camille wrote: "I'll go prepare the popcorn"

ahahahah yes.......make sure it has extra salt

chai (thelibrairie on tiktok!) ♡ goddamn i can't wait!!!!!!!

Camille ☼ @Emma omg I had forgotten you people eat popcorn with salt instead of sugar. But I guess it's appropriate in that case ahah

message 24: by emma (new) - rated it 1 star

emma @Camille lolol honestly I will eat popcorn with anything (my fav is caramel) but salt does seem the most fitting to go along with the theme of this review

Tweebs ♡ *slides $10* just don't roast my bby cassian ok???? Other than that, I'm so ready for this rant 😝

emma Tweebs wrote: "*slides $10* just don't roast my bby cassian ok???? Other than that, I'm so ready for this rant 😝"

hehehe.......hehe.....he.....I can't make any promises

jk I like Cassian, I just wish the characters on the whole had gotten some actual development in this

Camille ☼ ahaha this review is AMAZING. It's almost more than this book deserve. I didn't talk about the library in my review but you're so right, I remember being totally uncomfortable at Feyre and Rhysand trying to have sex in the library and these girls being used, once again, to make Rhys look good.

message 33: by Ayan (new) - rated it 5 stars

Ayan I don't agree on everything butttt I totally am with you with the ouroboros I was ready for a dark, crazy as fuck scene and all we got was...that? It was barely two pages, and it was full of nothing! Also, am I the only person who does not like Lucien? Hated him throughout the whole trilogy, and I kinda hope he never came back from his journey..

message 34: by Ayan (new) - rated it 5 stars

Ayan The more I read these rant review the more I start seeing flaws in this book! I still loved it, but it wasn't the 5-star perfection I once thought it was you know

Everyone seems to be obsessed with him, I don't really get it, either. This was the only book I actually liked him in. And the ouroboros scene was definitely super unnecessary!!

The same thing has happened to me with other books! I think sometimes when it's a series you're already invested in it makes it easier to love a book even if you can see it's somewhat flawed. I am glad you enjoyed it though!!

hannah ✧/ᐠ-ꞈ-ᐟ\ (on hiatus) this is a glorious review & I agree with you 10000% esp on King freaking Hybern he was such a disappointment

message 40: by Elle (new) - rated it 2 stars

Elle I agree with this review so much but cassian and Nesta in my opinion were so stupid it felt really forced to me nearly as much as Amrens relationship. Also Sarah really needs to stop with all the beautiful nonsense it's not necessary.

emma hannah (PB&B) wrote: "this is a glorious review & I agree with you 10000% esp on King freaking Hybern he was such a disappointment"

thank you!!! yeah, I had absolutely no interest in Hybern bc nobody from that side had ANY development....I don't understand how I'm supposed to find him a compelling antagonist???? It's like someone cut out a piece of cardboard and drew an angry face on it and then was like "look at this terrifying force of evil"

message 42: by emma (new) - rated it 1 star

Thanks, Elle! I was mostly trying to hold onto the hope that at least one of the ships would be decent in this, but since the characters were all such flat caricatures I didn't even like Cassian and Nesta that much. I thought we would get a lot more development of that relationship, and I was so down for that because enemies to lovers tropes are my fav, but it was so poorly done I lost interest pretty early on.

Abby 💛🍄 I agree with some of these things, but for the most part I loved ACOWAR; however, this was the most fantastic hate review, I freaking love your writing. 😂

emma Abby (Abby-loves-books) wrote: "I agree with some of these things, but for the most part I loved ACOWAR; however, this was the most fantastic hate review, I freaking love your writing. 😂"

aww thank you!!! as I'm sure you can tell this was not my favorite book, but I'm glad you were able to enjoy it :)

Ashlynn So, I haven't read beyond where there's a spoiler alert. I laughed SO hard at this review, I finished ACOMAF a few weeks ago and plan on reading this, so this helps place my height of expectations. You honestly crack me up, your rants are just perfect lol.

message 46: by emma (new) - rated it 1 star

emma Dari wrote: "To be honest, I'm not sure, should I read the series ot not."

There are definitely a lot of people who absolutely love this series, so if you're on the fence I'd give it a try! While I didn't care for ACOWAR, I did enjoy the first two books in the series :)

message 47: by emma (new) - rated it 1 star

emma ghanimas wrote: "I haven't gotten past the first book in this series yet but tbh this reinforces that I just don't think maas's writing or ship styles are for me. Great review! Loved the salt haha."

Thank you!! If you didn't like the first one I think it's safe to say that you probably won't like the other two either....but if you're like me you could always give them a try and push through to write a very cathartic book rant

message 48: by emma (new) - rated it 1 star

emma Ashlynn wrote: "So, I haven't read beyond where there's a spoiler alert. I laughed SO hard at this review, I finished ACOMAF a few weeks ago and plan on reading this, so this helps place my height of expectations...."

omg thank you so much, I live for connecting with people over book rants!!!

I think it's definitely a good idea to go into this without too many expectations. Although I was able to enjoy ACOTAR and ACOMAF, I definitely had some issues with SJM's writing throughout the series and all of that kinda came to a head in this one. From what I've seen, even her most devoted fans had some issues with this book.

Charlie The book was so damn long, that it could have been filled with more action, explanation, and really anything besides Feyre's constant inner monologues about how much she loves Rhys. Your rant/review says everything I felt, and more. This was awesome!
