it was amazing
bookshelves: vivid-dream, science-fiction, time-travel-story, fantastical-weird-fiction, favorites

Psis and anti-psis, your door suing you, salvatory advertisement, Herbert Schoenheit von Vogelsang in a Continental outfit: tweed toga, loafers, crimson sash and a purple airplane-propeller beanie.

Guess what : you're in for a farcical nightmare.

Petra is wondering when this dawn will beome day When you added this book, was it this edition? It's a Spanish language one, the only Spanish one actually, and is the default edition of the book and I'm trying to work out how it got that way.

P.E. Mh, actually, the cover attached to my review seem to be that for the SF Masterworks series published by Millennium/Gollancz/Gateway I have actually read, Petra, and not one from a Spanish edition. Neither it is for Tara, now I've checked. Perhaps it is screened that way for you? Which begs the question too.

I've made a similar comment to Petra on my review. Mine isn't attached to the Spanish version, even though it looks that way to her. When I checked the list of all editions, the Spanish one was at the top, but my review was still linked to the English edition. Very odd.

That said, there have been instances where my review has mysteriously moved to another edition of a book. That's especially true of short stories that are published in multiple collections as well as individually.

P.E. Isn't it happening when a librarian "merges" two editions of a book into a single one?

Cecily The instances I've noticed previously, yes.
But what's happening here seems to be different: Petra isn't seeing what you and I are seeing.

P.E. That adds a whole new layer to the issue at hand, that's right!...

Petra is wondering when this dawn will beome day I think I know what has happened. Either very many editions of Ubik has no isbn and were combined by someone who had a preference for the Spanish edition or they had the isbns removed. Considering how some librarians don't fact check (look at my Russian edition of The Lady and the Dog) and some couldn't care less it's just a list to get to the top of, either could be true.
