As it seems my Harry Potter reviews donāt always start with a Dumbledore quote but always end up being āMy thoughts about this bookā� reviews as well. For a series like HP thatās been read by so many people this might be the best solution though. And because the books get longer and longer and because I donāt share my friend Jaysonās amazing and remarkable ability to describe a book in one significant sentence, Iām afraid youāll have to bear with quite a lot of my thoughts. *lol*
1.) āItās one of the basic rules of breeding,ā� she said. āYou see it all the time with dogs. If thereās something wrong with the bitch, thereāll be something wrong with the pup-ā�
Aunt Marge is such a horrible person!!! If you ask me sheās really lucky that Harry is such a precious cinnamon roll and only made her a big bubble gum. *lol* The audacity to talk about his dead parents like that! No wonder Harry got so angry!! Aunt Marge can float to hell!
2.) āIāve already had some,ā� said Harry. āProfessor Lupin gave me some. He gave it to all of us.ā�
āDid he, now?ā� said Madam Pomfrey approvingly. āSo weāve finally got a Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher who knows his remedies.ā�
Lupin is the best DADA teacher they ever had and I love him so much! <333 His character is just great and I wish we would have seen even more of him. Unfortunately we werenāt blessed with all too many Lupin scenes. >_<
3.) āHow extraordinarily like your father you are, Potter,ā� Snape said suddenly, his eyes glinting. āHe, too, was exceedingly arrogant. A small amount of talent on the Quidditch pitch made him think he was a cut above the rest of us, too. Strutting around the place with his friends and admirersā� the resemblance between you is uncanny.ā�
And speaking of the best teacher we come directly to the worst! Snape is such a horrible teacher I canāt even! I said it once and Iāll say it again: He's cruel, he's a bully, he takes delight in instilling fear in his students. And he verbally and emotionally abuses them. His personal vendetta against Harry who never ever did anything to him except of looking like his dead father is just crazy! Movie Snape is way nicer than the one in the books and I'm sorry but if you ask me #SnapeCan'tBeRedeemed"!!
4.) āTheyāve got a new captain and Seeker, Cedric Diggory-ā�
Angelina, Alicia and Katie suddenly giggled.
āWhat?ā� said Wood, frowning at this light-hearted behaviour.
āHeās that tall, good-looking one, isnāt he?ā� said Angelina.
Itās the third book and Cedric Diggory and Cho Chang are already mentioned! Also did anyone notice that they are both introduced as Seekers as well? ;-) So we have all the main players for book 4! Harry, Draco, Cho and Cedric! XD (On a side note: Considering the giggling girls Robert Pattinson truly is a good cast! *lol*)
5.) āYou asked us a question and she knows the answer! Why ask if you donāt want to be told?ā�
Ron never ceases to amaze me! Heās such a shy guy but boy does he become a lion when he defends the people he cares about! <3
6.) āDementors are among the foulest creatures that walk this earth. They infest the darkest, filthiest places, they glory in decay and despair, they drain peace, hope and happiness out of the air around them. Even Muggles feel their presence, though they canāt see them. Get too near a Dementor and every good feeling, every happy memory, will be sucked out of you.ā�
The Dementorās Kiss reminded me of one of my rp characters that died through one. Ahh the good old roleplay times. *lol* Anyway, moving on! I was always intrigued by the idea of Dementors and even after so many years their existence and mystery still didnāt lose its appeal! They are really fascinating creatures and even though I never want to meet one I still canāt help but take an interest in them. =) Certainly one of the best things about this book!
7.) āMr Moony presents his compliments to Professor Snape, and begs him to keep his abnormally large nose out of other peopleās business.ā�
The first mention of the Marauderās Map! āThe Prisoner of Azkabanā� is certainly one of those main books that build the foundation for everything thatās yet to come. And itās already way darker than its predecessors. Bless Fred and George for handing Harry the map! Heaven knows heāll have good use for it in the years to come. ;-P
8.) āTheyāre dead,ā� he told himself sternly. āTheyāre dead, and listening to echoes of them wonāt bring them back.ā�
It always kills me to read about how Harry struggles with the knowledge - or rather the lack of knowledge - about his parents. My heart bleeds for him whenever they are mentioned. I mean jeez, heād endure a Dementor just to hear their voices. T_T
9.) āSheās got her heart in the right place, Hermione has, anā� you two not talkinā� to her āā�
Is it just me or is this actually a reoccurring theme? Since book one there always seem to be sections in which they donāt talk to each other because something gets in their way. And if my memory serves me right things are going to continue in this vein. XD
10.) āShe had slapped Malfoy around the face with all the strength she could muster. Malfoy staggered.ā�
Once again I want to point out that Iām a pacifist! The way Hermione dished out that slap was pretty spectacular though! *lol* Guess she took Mr. Weasley as an example. Haha! Sound advice for parents: You better donāt slap mean people in front of your kids! ;-P Also is it just me or did anyone else notice the irony of the situation? A person like Hermione, a person that values words, resorted to actions because she realized words wonāt get her far with a Malfoy. *lol*
11.) āTHIRTY-ZERO! TAKE THAT, YOU DIRTY, CHEATING-ā�
āJordan, if you canāt commentate in an unbiased way-!ā�
āIām telling it like it is, Professor!ā�
Jordanās Quidditch commentary is legit one of the best things about the series! Well and the matches themselves of course. XD Plus McGonagall swearing like a trooper because the Slytherin team was playing so foul is one of the best things ever! Haha! Especially because she obviously tried to keep everything objective and neutral at first. *lol*

I canāt wait to read āThe Goblet of Fireā�! Not just because itās one of my favourite HP books but also because I want to find out which other details I missed the first time around! It will get dark now and Iām so ready for it!!! <3

So now that Christmas is coming closer with every passing day itās about time to dive into one of my favourites! =)
I always liked āThe Prisoner of Azkabanā�! Not only because the kids have grown so much but also because it marks the beginning of the series getting all āSiriusā�. *lol* (Sorry, I couldnāt help it. XD)
But honestly, there are so many awesome things that happen in this book and there are so many new characters that are introduced, itās just amazing! <3

Man! Just seeing this makes my day even better, I have so may friends who say the third is there favorite and don't get me wrong, I love Prisoner of Azkaban, but I think my favorite is the 6th book. Half-blood prince. Have fun re-reading! I plan on doing that later in 2020.

Iām with you. I really love that one. Itās among my favorites. I love Lupinās character too and how he helps Harry.

I mean the 5th book has a great plot and I loved how we get to see all the developments. I never really liked the ending of it though. XD

I finished Goblet of Fire today, and Iām starting Order of the Phoenix. I decided to do a reread to end 2019/start 2020. Goblet of Fire is definitely my favorite book of the series, but Prisoner of Azkaban is a close second!

I feel like everyone is doing a Harry Potter reread at the moment lol! I have recently finished Order of the Phoenix but I usually take a break between the books. But it's been a long time since I've read the 6th one so I'm excited for that one!

I love this! PoA is one of my favourite books and it's always fun to look out for the details and foreshadowing. Not to mention JK drops a TON of red herrings that I completely fell for at age 11!

Hey! I just read the first chapter of the fourth book and you were right! Shit just got real from the start being full dark. I'm imagining the kid who read the first book and reaching to this be like - " Dad, I think you gave me your book by mistake" lol

Thank you it's always good to know that I'm right. *lol* Joking aside it got real dark from book four on and the series continues in that vein. Yeah, if you read those first three books as a kid you'd really be like that! XD
I complete agree with #SnapeCanātBeRedeemed because the only redeeming thing about him was that he chose the right side, thatās it. Not to mention that he only chose that side because of Lily and hardly cared about anyone else while people were dying left and right.I also saw something on reddit that compared Snape to a cop who abuses his kids. People see his abusive behaviour but are afraid of calling him an asshole because he saved lives as a duty. And yeah, Snape is a horrible teacher as he literally just writes stuff on the board and hopes you fail, and laughs at you when you do. Yes people can tell me that itās because heās had a rough life, but letting your personal life get in the way of your work is extremely unfair especially since he is a teacher and is in a position of care! Then thereās the simple fact that just because he had an obsession with Lily does not excuse the years of verbally abusing his students. Would Lily thank him for what how he treated Harry? Snape gave Harry such a hard time. But yeah, I could go on forever about Snape so Iāll stop right here..

XD He's a bullying teacher and he verbally and psychologically abused his students. And this for years! No matter what he did at the end or that he was in love with Lily, he still hurt his students and was a bully. So yeah, nothing can redeem him in my eyes.
