it was amazing

It took me a week to figure out how I felt about this book before writing a review.

*did I love it
*did I hate it
*did I not understand it.

As my 5 star review reveals, I loved it. It has the most unusual premise I have ever read. It is clever and disturbing although not solely a murder mystery, as the title indicates. Instead, it is the story of a young man who had an unusual talent........he identified the world through his sense of smell. He discovered that everything. animate or inanimate, had its own odor whether it be a person, a door knob, or a piece of paper. He developed it to the point that he could walk in the pitch blackness of night and find his way by smell.

His goal became the discovery of the most perfect and beautiful smell with which he would make a perfume that would stun the world. And thus began his journey to find it.

I will go no further as I don't want to reveal anything that would become a spoiler which would be difficult to avoid. It is a strange and beautifully written story and I would recommend it.
