really liked it
bookshelves: paranormal, sci-fi

I was pleasantly surprised by this book, I found it really interesting, and there was quite a lot of mystery and secrets to be discovered. Although some plot points were predictable, others were really surprising and things that I could not have imagined myself.

It was different than I was expecting, I was just expecting a mystery / search for a missing sister during an epidemic and the search for how it all started, but it also had paranormal aspects that were major to the plot that I wasn’t expecting. Although I wasn’t expecting it, it was a welcome aspect and did add a lot to the story.

The plot was fast paced and interesting, there wasn’t a boring moment, it was exciting to read, i wanted to find out the answers as much as the characters did. There is so much more I need to know!! The writing was so detailed in the science aspects, although it was mostly fictional, it linked in with real science, and I thought it was well written.

It was a great start to the series and I’m looking forward to discovering more! I have a hunch about something and I can’t wait to see if that hunch is true!
