Great read. Felt like I highlighted practically the entire book:

We can't control the impressions others form about us, and the effort to do so only debases our character. Just smile and reply, "I guess that person doesn't know about all my other faults. Otherwise, he wouldn't have mentioned only these."

That's right, Sean! As I'm sure you know, this manual was a condensed version of his talks. The aspiring Roman philosophers would memorize sections to strengthen their resolve to put his ideas into their everyday actions and way of being in the world.

This was a great review of a great interpretation of a great work.
