Magpie Murders (Susan Ryeland, #1)

4.5 stars
This was a Traveling Sister group read with Brenda, Norma, Lindsay, Jaline, Susanne, Holly, Linda and PorshaJo. We all enjoyed it and it will be on a favorites list for many of us.
I'm a huge fan of Agatha Christie and the entire genre. This was a great read, better than a 4 and just missing a 5 star by a hair. It was great fun reading it with the Traveling Sisters group as we discussed the clues and played amateur sleuth trying to figure out whodunit in this clever literary mystery that is a story within a story, with both stories interconnected. Good job Mr Horowitz! If a book is rated purely on enjoyment this is a 5 star read and highly recommended - storytelling at it's best!
I was going to add to the above review but I think its best for a reader to go in knowing as little as possible and find out for themselves :-)

"Loving this one! I'm a big fan of Agatha Christie and this is a nod to those type of 'whodunnits'. A fun sister read as we discuss the clues and who we think the culprit is!"

Norma, yes, it was a fun book to read with the group! You will definitely have to read a Christie book - she's the best! I loved that this book paid her homage :-)

Lindsay, thanks! Its fun to read a book we all enjoyed. I love that we were still surprised...so many possible suspects :-)

Jaline, yes, brilliant! :-) haha! I look forward to everyone's review too!

Oh Kaceey, you did! I hope you get a chance to read it - it's so worth it!

Sarah, yes, I wish you both had been able to read it with us - it such a fun read and discussion!

Thanks Mary...I think you'll love it! And I think this is definitely one to read without knowing too many details or reading too many reviews...just enjoy it! I may not add too much more to mine but link to the sisters review tomorrow :-)

Jaline, I agree...it has been the most fun discussion so far! It was the perfect book to discuss as we read each section. For a longer book the pages flew by!
